I'm sure we played this right, but we had an interesting situation last session:
The Tachyon player wanted to play Supersonic Response on the first turn. The villain had damaged her previously. However, the card wording is "If that target dealt Tachyon damage since your last turn, she deals that target 2 sonic damage." The problem is that even though the villain had damaged Tachyon, she hadn't had a turn yet, so the exact condition of the card wasn't met.
We played it by what we assume was the intent of the card and went ahead with the 2 sonic damage. What does everyone else think?

Since the condition wasn't met, I'd say "no".

I agree with Greywind.
Oh no, another agreeing thread? ;)

i think thats overly picky. A full round has not passed since the villain did damage, so the bonus would apply in my eyes.

I'm taking lynkfox' side on this one, on a rule lawyer's point of view it shouldn't work but I feel the spirit of the card is more respected by applying the said extra two damage.

I would agree with Lynkfox, you were damaged since your last turn... the last time you played with Tachyon!
Seriously though, I think that you have been damaged and it should trigger the additional damage.

If you have ever played Tachyon before it would work, because the villain damaged you after the last turn you played that hero.
I would allow it as long as the player had previously played Tachyon.

I'd allow it if you've ever played a game with turns before.

Hahaha, yeah. That even includes things like charades, golf, etc. Basically I agree that you just get the extra damage without getting too technical.

Given that in most comic books the Villain will stand around doing a monologue for several "turns" before combat actually begins, I'd say that Tachyon could deal the extra damage as she had to stand around bored for several "turns" listening to villainous boasts and taunts.
But seriously, I'd like to see an official decision as I had it come up and decided against the extra damage.

I respect your desire to want an official decision. At the same time, I DO NOT want to see an official decision. I don't think it matters enough and I want Christopher to work on other things.

seriously. the best thing about Sentinels is that it is not competitive. Do what works best for your group and just have fun. Nothing against being fiddly with the rules if that is your thing, but i wouldnt worry much over looking for official answers, and play more to what feels right and fun

*crawls out of Sentinel Tactics design work*
I'd give her the bonus damage. It's happened since her last turn, certainly. This is definitely a corner case, though - I don't feel the need to rule that there is a magical floating "previous turn" in existence for all characters and all that.
Hope that's official enough for you!

Thanks, Christopher!
I appreciate it when the ruling is in line with the spirit of the card.

I'm glad that's settled, but given how Christopher ended is post, "Dives gleefully back into Sentinels Tactics", I can't picturing him screaming "No. No [redacted] - you're too far forward, keep in line or [redacted] with cut you off, flank us, and [redacted] us from the [redacted]!" as he tries to keep the heroes from dying as they fight [redacted]
Two of those "redacteds" were in no particular order, "destroy" and "side".
