We played our first game yesterday and I've been trying some more to sort out the timing questions that arose

Looking at the FAQ I believe there are definitely two principles

1) simultaneous effects are actually resolved in order (of the players choosing)

2) If an effect is triggered, it is fully resolved before continuing with those simultaneous effects (and can affect/amend/cancel those effects)

so are the following correct

a card effect attacks all hero targets
The players select the first hero target
By selecting that hero target, an effect/power destroys the card causing the attack
all the remaining attacks are cancelled

a card effect attacks all hero targets for 2 damage and another card gives a bonus 1 to the attack for a total of 3 damage
The players select the first hero target
By selecting that hero target, an effect/power destroys the card causing the bonus 1
all the remaining attacks are value 2 (even though "simultaneous")

However, my main concern (because the other players didn't feel it was correct) is the following

Unity's Cryo Bot receives damage that would destroy it
However, when damage is dealt to it, it deals damage to non-hero targets
Does being destroyed, prevent the possible triggers on the card. (In our game we found this is important for Cryo Bot and Lady Luck)
I emailed Mike Booth (Spiffworld) and he seemed to think that being destroyed would prevent the triggers but it didn't sit well with the group yesterday.

(we were playing with more complex characters as I had received Shattered Timelines and the mini-expansions but the base game has failed to arrive as yet !  However, the questions remain valid for us)

Thanks

Some created examples of what I mean

eg  La Capitan - Siege-Breaker has 1hp left and Silver Gulch - Explosives Wagon is in play.  Siege-breaker can hit two targets. The first hero target selected is Unity - Cryo Bot. Cryo Bot is dealt damage. It therefore deals each non-hero 1 cold damage (+1 explosives wagon). Siege-breaker is destroyed (1 + 1 -1 damage). Does the attack on a second hero by Siege Breaker still go ahead or is it cancelled ?
eg Omnitron-X - Gaussian Coil Blaster deals 3 targets x 1 lightening damage. This is increased to 3 damage by Explosive Wagon and Water Trough. The first of the targets is Water trough which is destroyed. Is the damage against the two remaining targets 2 or 3 each

Yes, destroying CryoBot stops it's damage as it's no longer around to deal it, in the same way that destroyign Citizen Hammer half-way through his damage run will stop him dealing any more.

Similarly, in your second example, the sdamge O-X will do will be 2 (Base +1 for explosives wagon as the water trough will not longer be around to add its bonus)

This is all correct it seems so far.

Allow me just pose a quick senario to demonstrate that simultaneous triggers and consecutive triggers can be different, just to cover all the bases here.

Villain plays imaginary card [V1] which reads: "Play the top card of the Villain deck. Then, destroy all hero ongoing cards". The next Villain card in the deck is the imaginary card [V2] which reads: "Destroy all Villain cards in play".

In this senario, all three of these effects are consecutive triggers. Consecutive triggers, unlike simultaneous triggers, resolve in order of newest to oldest. You would have to resolve the card [V2] before you moved on to the second effect clause of [V1]. End result would be that the heros would not have their ongoings destroyed.

Edit: Also, going to be nitpicky, its "Cryo" bot, not Gyro. Cryo = greek for "icey cold".

So, what you are saying is that Unity does not have a golem whose discerning feature is its ability to maintain a fixed rotational position, or an inate ability to serve pita wrapped lamb meat?

She might, it's just not represented in the card game.

Unity's Gyro bot is for when she becomes a villain.  It allows any player to remove their hero from the game, any hero that does this gets a Gyro.

She would be undefeated.

Gyro Bot?  Oh, you must mean Spin Bot.

Looks like an early concept mini for Wall-E

Thanks, it wasn't my deck in our two games and was reading the card upside down and, though I rechecked the rules wording of the card several times I never actually looked at the name again

Now corrected
