When Char and Imprisoned Rogue are both in play, does Char do a total of 5 damage [(2+2) + 1] or 6 damage [(2+1) + (2+1)]?

It seems to me like Char ought to be doing 2 separate instances of damage, each of which gets boosted by the Rogue.  However, unlike many cards which act that way, both of Char's damage statements are in a single sentence, so some local players disagree.  Can I get clarification on this?

I've always played it as 2+1 and 2+1. Faantic's 1 Melee and 1 radient are also on on setnece and no one questions they both get the boost.

Its two separate instances of damage he is dealing. So it would be each of his targets take 2+1 then another 2+1.

Targets can certainly hit you with multiple instances of damage. Watson brought up Fanatic's base power as a prime example. Them being a part of the same sentence is pretty much inconsequential.

Anyone who deals multiple instances of damage will have every instance boosted by a damage buff - Fanatic has been mentioned, of course. Another good example is Tempest's Vicious Cyclone, where you would normally deal one damage for each card discarded (up to a maximum of three cards), but say he has a total of +1 damage, that means two damage for each card discarded. If the Cyclone is on the villain with the highest hp (usually the main villain, obviously) and he's wearing his Shackles and is buffed by, say, Galvanise and Inspiring Presence, that'll be five damage per card. Six if the target happens to be Voss. So that's an automatic eighteen damage (assuming Voss has no soak) at the start of Tempest's turn, before he's even played a card, provided he discards three :D.

Someone like Char, the Abominable Snowman, or the "Diplomatic" Envoy, already nasty as they deal two lots of two damage to a target, are made all the worse if they can get their damage buffed by even one point :(.

It would be 2+1 and 2+1, so a total of 6.
