Tonight we had TWO trains in play in the environment phase.

Is that even legal? So TWO trains at once? Also I assume that since it says TARGET with highest HP this can mean the villain as well?

Yes, you can have more than one Monorail out, it is not a limited card. Yes, it can hit the villain. It can be a very beneficial card if Legacy is the highest with Danger Sense of if Nightmist is the highest with an amulet in play.

Not only the villain but itself as well!

Particularly amusing is when the Wraith is in Combat Stance and gets hit with the train, or when she shoots it with a Stun Bolt to reduce its damage.  Or she Throat Jabs it.  Basically, the Wraith + a train = funny.

The Plummeting Monorail can certainly be useful if the villain still has more hp than everyone else, just as the Kraken (all three of them) in Atlantis can be useful against someone with a load of minions (unless you're fighting Dawn and the Kraken's attack will kill off the last citizen to cause her to flip...this happened to us the other day). The Spike Trap in the Tomb of Anubis is another one that's good against minions :).

It's truly amazing how many things can be stopped by jabbing them in the throat. Especially when they don't seem to have one.

I have, although I don't own it. My local library has a circulating game collection that includes TTR:Europe.

I have TTR Europe, but I actually prefer the US one. Not that it's in my list of favourite games, I'd almost always rather play something else (especially because after playing on my phone face-to-face games seem to take forever).

Be sure to check out the Train Puns thread over in the General Discussion. That was a good time.

TTR definitely can take far too long.  It's really weird how fast the turns go around, and well, I've yet to see a game group where everyone just paid attention all the time, unless playing a game that physically forces you to.  If there was a rule in TTR where you could yell something at your opponents and they'd lose cards for not taking their turn fast enough, it might be possible to finish it in something resembling a reasonable amount of time.

I think there should be a special gold star for anyone who can have the train win the game.

It would be a very Buffy/Simpsons crossover-like moment.

We actually finished off Iron Legacy with a train, once. The whole thing, since Nightmist redirected her half of the damage.

Beautiful but illegal move considering the source of the damage was still the environnement wich Iron Legacy is immune to damage wise, but my first game against citizen Dawn was won by train damage while the last hero standing was Visionnary in a cocoon at 3 hp.

Actually yes I have and by memory it IS written there too, sadly I don't have my deck with me and am quite willing to admit I could be very wrong. It would make my life more simple when fighting Iron Legacy so I'd appreciate being wrong.

Maybe I'm the one misremembering!

Edit: Nope. I was right. Just checked the ST proofs. He is not immune to enviro damage on his flip side

Then prepare to start appreciating! Because he is not immune to environment damage on his flip side, instead he has DR1.

Then I admit getting Iron Legacy in an epic train wreck is awesome.

He's only immune to the environment when he's PAYING ATTENTION; he's not paying attention when he's motivated by desperation. It actually fits pretty well, thematically.

To bring it slightly back on topic, check out the Trains deck-building game. Good stuff.

A friend of mine works for the company that makes that, and brought a copy to game night recently, but it didn't end up getting played even though we were interested.
