This is not an important question and was, in fact, partially inspired by BrotherDusk's comment about questions manufactured to keep heads spinning. My question is, when do components played midway through a round get destroyed? For example, if Pillars of Hercules puts one out after six damage has been dealt to Omnitron, does one more damage destroy it or does seven? I see various ways it could go:

1) Damage-counting for each component begins when it's played. (I would favour this, but it could require slightly more bookkeeping than the others.)

2) Begin counting damage for a component once it enters play, but on hitting seven destroy all components, even those that enter play after some of the damage is dealt. (Admittedly, this is probably not the answer.)

3) Assume damage is being counted every round, and then once seven is hit destroy all components in play, and either a) immediately destroy all components that enter play for the rest of the round, or b) don't destroy any components for the rest of the round. (One of these is probably RAW, although it could just as easily be either, and RAI may be more geared towards 1.)

I would personally go with number 1.

I see this as being #3. The trigger for destruction is tied to the damage done over a round. When that component comes into play, damage has already happened in the round and I am not sure it can/should be just ignored. After that last 1 damage is done, I would consider the trigger condition as met and destroy the card.

That seems rather straightforward to me. But taking my interpretation of that interaction and extending it possibly creates some weirdness. For instance, lets take the original premise but lets say that 7 damage has already done in the round and that at least one component has already been destroyed because of it. Now Pillars plays a new component during the end of a round in which is has already sustained >7 damage. Does that component destruct instantly? My above interpretation (that I still stand by) would say it does get destroyed, but that does seem a bit odd.

Thats how I see it anyway.

While it does seem like it would factor in all damage in the round, I would only destroy a component as a reaction to damage being dealt to Omnitron.  So if a component is put into play after 7 damage had already been dealt, I would not immediately destroy it, but I would destroy it when damage of any amount is dealt to Omnitron (that round).

Note, that while this won't come up alot with Omnitron, it matters a bit more for Rooftop Combat which will typically be played at the end of a round.  So long as it is only destroyed as a direct reaction to damage though, it is quite difficult to damage a villain character between Rooftop Combat being played normally and the end of the round.

Having said that, I think enterpretation 1) is a fine way to play these cards as well.

Missed a good question here.

I would say destroy all that were out when seven was dealt, after that destroy each as it came into play.

I wouldn't actually play that way, I'd probably do individual counting.

I can see arguments for individual counting or always counting from the start of round, but I definately feel like they shouldn't be automatically destroyed as they enter play.  If the same logic were applied to Rooftop Combat it would frequently be destroyed as soon as it is played.
