Had both of these cards in play today.
If the lowest HP character is to take damage, would you redirect it (and apply the -1) and then send it to the Scholar (regardless if he's the highest HP or not)? Or, would the Alchemical Redirection redirect all the damage immediately to the Scholar, before it had a chance to hit the lowest HP character, therefore negating Smoke Bombs?
Smoke Bombs general question: If a villian hits everyone for damage, can you still redirect the damage the lowest HP character would take?

It would depend on play order. If Smoke Bombs was in first, it would be able to redirect first.
Yes you can still redirect it, as the villain is dealing the hero with the lowest HP damage.

Thanks, looks like we did it right.
I know card order matters on Villian and Environment decks. Didn't realize it mattered on Hero decks too. Especially going cross hero.

One more way in which it'd be a lot easier to play virtual Sentinels than the physical game. Not only would it automate the math, but it would be possible (or rather practical) to timestamp every card in the exact sequence it was played, making it easy to resolve situations like this.
But, of course, to computerize the game, you'd have to nail down the exact rules in a bit more detail than >G seems to prefer, given that they want to keep the core game simple enough that players can thumb-rule nearly every situation.
