New to the game. I've played a couple of games and a couple different characters adn I LOVE the game. One thing I cannot fathom however; I've pored over the cards and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use Absolute Zero effectively. Nearest I can figure is purposely doing Fire damage to yourself (or having Ra do it), to deal out Cold.
I'm obviously missing something here, so I have to ask; How do I use Absolute Zero effectively?
And, if you find you're having trouble, try out the Absolute Zero: Elemental Wrath variant. It (and many other variants from the assorted Kickstarters) are available to print on BoardGameGeek (with >G's permission!).

I read the character's backstory, then play as the character once, and finally I go and read the strategy post, if one exists.
I've got four heroes yet to play (not counting Rook City, which I don't have.

Neat as that is, I don't have a printer. Can they somehow be purchased from >G?

Also, if you want to go really awesome AZ get a Visionary to put Twist the Ether on you (Thermal Shockwave can fully heal you turning the fire damage to cold), Fixer with Crowbars and Grease Monkey fist is fun too, for healing with cold damage or to double up on a bad guy with fire damage.
The biggest things is to remember:
That Thermal Shockwave (AZ's Main big damage power) adds up all the damage you do at the start of your turn, so Impale and Cold Snap get added in. With TtE adding one to those the total can get really high.
Coolant Blast counts all fire damage dealt to AZ since your last turn, great for Weapons platform AZ (hitting him with fire from other heroes to deal cold or heal himself).
AZ is a hero to build a party around, he's good by himself, but with a team built to feed him he's incredible.

The promo cards can not be purchased from >G. They have been given out at conventions and part of Kickstarters.
You could probably take a file to a local print shop if you want to get it printed. Perhaps laminate it as long as you're there.

Hell, you can just write the power and max HP down on a scrap of paper. You don't get the art, but it's still perfectly serviceable.

Until we printed copies, we just left the PDF open on a laptop during games.
Regarding AZ, early on, I found it worthwile to note down how much cold and fire damage were dealt each turn, either on paper or by using blue and yellow tokens.
