Is taking a card into hand (from the back of Incapacitated heroes like Bunker) considered drawing a card for cards like Interpolation Beam?

I'm going to guess that "take into hand" is to "draw" as "put into play" is to "play", meaning that they are not the same thing.  But I've never seen a discussion of this, much less an official ruling, here on the forums.

It's interesting you brought up Bunker. An ability that says you can take a card into hand is probably a legit way to gain cards while in turret mode. Draw is a pretty core term, so I could see them being different since they didnt use that word.

But mechanically speaking, taking the top card of your deck into hand is really the same thing as drawing a card. And in that case, should there even be a difference?

although, in a situation where you reveal the top card and decide whether to put it into your hand or replace it then take it, I think I would be hesitant to call that drawing as those were both very different effects mechanically.

With all that said, I think the safe answer Is to assume they are different (else why not just say draw for consistency sake).

Unless I misread it, his text was take into hand from trash, not top of the deck.  I think draw was another one of his abilities.  It let me take Wrathful Retribution into hand and hit Omnitron for 29 to kill him.  Interpolation Beam was out, so if I had to take the 1 damage from it, I would have lost instead.

There is some precedence for this since revealing is not the same thing as drawing, and so I think it is fair to assume that taking something into your hand is also not the same as drawing it.

It is different, you cannot draw cards from your trash, and it selects a card.

Similarly Mr. Fixer's salvage yard allows Bunker to put all equips in his trash back in his hand even if Turret mode is out.

Omnitron's Timeshift works even if you can't draw or play cards (like Turret Bunker).

So yeah, legit, and from the sound of it, awesome win.

Interestingly Rook City Wraith's power says to reveal and then discard or play the card, which would not count as drawing but would count as playing the card.

"Drawing a card" is always from the deck.

Selecting a card from the trash is "cherry picking".

No big deal.  I just wish I'd been able to use it for Lightspeed Barrage more than once before Tachyon got incapacitated.

Yeah, found another great use for this.  Lightspeed Barrage every single round.
