So I was thinking about the game I had of Sentinels last night with some friends of mine.  It reminded me of why I just love this game so much.

To give you a little insight, i bought this game about 6-8 months ago, and for the first couple of months I played it pretty much everyday, either on my own or with my no so enamored wife. She liked the game, but it wasn't her go-to game on the shelf like it was mine. I had my slew of favorite heroes (Nightmist; Unity; and Tempest) but i tend to run the Sidekick app and let it pick everything for me, especially when I'm playing with new players who don't really know who's good. (i just say, ok, the game picked these, so these are your choices this game)

last night i brought this game to game night again. I rolled the sidekick app and it ended up being:

AZ, Visionary, Bunker and Wraith vs Advanced Baron Blade in Megalopolis.

I let them know that this is pretty much the prime villain and environment to teach the game as their both very forgiving.... it wasn't long till i had to pull the foot out of my mouth when Baron Blade just laid into us like it was nobody's business. I've never seen him take people down that fast, we were down to single digits before he even flipped. BUT, that's when things got interesting. I was trying to play AZ my favorite way, as close to dying as possible. I let bunker tank and I hurt myself to do cold damage more often then Baron Blade could (i ended up with 2 HP) I was cranking out 10-15 damage a turn when you considered all the bad guys that were out at the same time and Cold Snap being in play (along with the gloves that do +1 and Cryo room) Needless to say it, before We knew it, we had visionary feeding turret mode bunker cards while he laid waste to minions and Wraith was bat-a-ranging everything in sight. I feel like I interfeered a bit too much when it came to card choice and play, but MAN that was a great game.

I forgot why I love absolute zero so much. He's nuts! but you really gotta play it in a way in which you have no hint of self-preservation. The three other players pretty much asked me what I was up to the whole game, but when i started dishing out that major Cold damage all around, especially when baron blade was sending that damage back to the player with the lowest HP which let me heal. Oh MAN. too good.

Turret mode says:

You cannot draw cards.
not

You cannot draw cards during your draw phase
so turret mode prevents bunker from drawing cards, even when it is vie enlightenment

sounds like a great game.

I love it when a hero that can be a pushover gives a really good fight.

I absolutely love Visionary AZ, that's a powerful combo.

@PPery: I have always understood that as you can't draw at the end of your phase. But if someone uses a power that lets you draw that's fine. You just don't get your mandatory one at the end.  Was there an official ruling on this? cause I know that ammo drop lets you draw during turret mode. so...

Ammo drop lets you draw during Turret Mode because it specifically says so on the card.  Not being able to draw cards is a blanket restriction, not just on your phase.  It would be be the same with card like Feelt of Foot, Bolster Allies, etc:  Bunker would not be able to draw from those in Turret Mode

ERROR:my name is pppery, not PPery

Drawing is optional. This means that advanced apostate doesn't play like mad.

Drawing is only optional when something says "you may draw a card", thus something like Enlighten would force a player to draw 2 cards and discard 1. No optional draw there.

I meant drawing during your draw phase is optional.

Really?  That would make Apostate much easier.
