We were playing against Akash'bhuta last nigth and I wasn't sure whether or not I could use my base power as Nightmist due to it requiring me to damage myself and one of the limbs, the brambles I think, prevents the lowest HP player from doing damage. Does that make it so I can't use my power?
They're seperate parts of the ability. One is not dependant on the other so she still draws even if she does not take any damage.
The power does not require you to do damage. There is no "and" connecting the two parts. You do the damage. You draw two cards. If you can't deal damage, the second coniditon still applies. NightMist loves the brambles. We often ask the other players to leave one out just so NightMist can use her base power more freely.
