Heedless Lash question

When Heedless Lash says "you may put the revealed card into your hand or into play" does that include spells?  Or only cards that stay in play?

Just looking for some clarification.  Thanks

You can still put one-shots into play, it just doesn't trigger "when you play" effects on other cards. For instance you don't get the healing from Master of Magic, or if there was some card that dealt you damage when you play a card you wouldn't trigger it.
