If an infected hero has died and a live infected hero exists, when plague rat has sewer fiend and would be dealt damage by an environment card, can you redirect tht damage from plague rat to the dead infected hero (not a target), thus causing it to dissipate? Or are you forced to redirect it to the live infected hero?

The card sewer fiend says:

Whenever plauge rat would be dealt damage by an environment card, redirect that damage to an infected hero.

Though an incapacitated hero may be infected, that hero is not a target.

Attacks must have a target. Only cards with HPs are a target, so incapacitated heroes can not be the target of an attack.

Ah…so does that mean the Infection card stays on a hero even if they're defeated? I just thought it'd be put in the villain trash since the hero isn't properly around any more to remain infected. I wondered whether I was doing that wrong, as there was nothing that says the Infection card from a defeated hero is destroyed, but figured that since all that hero's own cards are destroyed, that one must be too.

Here’s the official ruling on Infections staying on incapacitated heroes.

Have a better one! :sunglasses:

Ahh cool, nice to know :). And now I'm stuck wondering whether Akash'Bhuta's limbs would hurt her twice if Haka destroys them and then later nukes them again via Savage Mana :D.
