As per this thread over heah…

http://greaterthangames.info/forum/index.php/topic,512.0.html

Yes, it does mean she’s immune to stuff I’ve been using on her, like Divine Focus, Gene-Bound Shackles, and Vicious Cyclone, but the tradeoff… is worth it.

This really makes Chairman a lot easier, as it turns out the Operative is vulnerable to a lot of things… including;

Chastise, Zealous Offense, Wrest the Mind, and End of Days.

So I just got out of a game, Fanatic was definitely MVP. I didn’t even realize until after the game that End of Days would kill the operative, even though I actually played it on turn 2 to get rid of a bunch of minions.

I don’t think you can bump her Into the Stratosphere, because I’m inclined to say she’s not actually a “villan card” either, but that could be pretty cool =p.

Whoah. Would End of Days really kill the Operative?! I see the logic, but it just doesn’t seem … right.

“…destroy all cards in play other than the hero and villan character cards”

Are you a hero or villan character card? No? Ok, well then death.

While I fully agree that your current assessment is correct, Christopher has already said that End of Days needs errata, to correct the “you can choose the order and if you choose End of Days first, it stops” problem. I have little doubt that once it’s errata-ed/corrected by enhanced edition, it will say “other than character cards”.

It’s right up there with using Into the Stratosphere to remove Spite’s Drugs. Is it legal right this second? Sure. Is it likely to stay that way? I doubt it.

If you want to be really picky about it, you can also Into the Stratosphere the Safe House. What happens then?

I would say that indestructible things shouldn’t be removed from play by any other effect, but that makes Advanced Matriarch even more horrifying than she already is (in theory… one I’m not about to test any time soon).

The rulebook does define indestructible as “cannot be removed from play”. Yes, advanced Matriarch is a pain.

Even if at 0HP I’ll add…

Fun times were had by everyone who was not a hero when we played against the Matriarch on Advanced; that is to say, nobody.

To be sure, The Operative is not immune to Vicious Cyclone. But, as she is immune to the effect of Gene-Bound Shackles, she won’t always make the best Vicious Cyclone target.

Not sure if this was answered somewhere before but since we are talking about The Operative. When playing as Mister Fixer, does he get the extra 1 damage when he hits The Operative. Also, when the The Operative deals damage to Mr Fixer, does she gets the extra 1 damage as well.

As per; “the operative isnt the villan character card” no, and no.

If she doesn’t take or deal extra damage from/to Mr. Fixer, then what’s the point of her having his symbol on her card…?

Yeah, they’re nemesis. Should get the +1 damage to each other IMO.

I think chwineka is right here. He must get the damage bonus, because she has his symbol. No, she’s not the villain card, but she still counts as “The Organization”, perhaps.

mmm… page 8 sentinels rulebook says

“… all damage dealt to each other is increased by 1, but not damage to targets other than specifically the hero and villan character cards” (emphasis mine).

So… I disagree.

Any card with the nemesis symbol on it would get the nemesis bonus. It’ll probably have to be added into the Infernal Relics rulebook and the enhanced edition rulebook stating it, seeing as they didn’t catch it for Rook City’s rulebook.

I asked Chris specifically, they (The Operative and Mister Fixer) get nemesis bonuses vs. each other.

Re-emphasis mine. If it’s two-sided, it’s a character card.

Every card is two sided…

(The debate here is it’s not a villain character card)

But we just went over this in the other thread!

TheJayMann suggested:

The Chairman is the Villian Character Card, whereas The Operative is a Character Card (not the Villain Character Card).

to which savagegreywolf added;

A villain always has ‘Villain’ on their card somewhere.

Matchstickman agreed with

That seems so blindingly obvious I can’t believe no one has pointed it out before, I think that conclusively answers the question!

And even Christopher commented on it, quoting Machstickman again, and adding;

It does.

Operative is most definitely NOT a villan character card.

awp832, you are correct that she isn’t a villain character card.

However, she is a character, and she is (one of) Mr. Fixer’s nemeses, as she has the icon.

With Infernal Relics, we will see that nemeses aren’t just found in hero and villain decks . . . but I digress.

The issue here is that The Operative is a Character Card which is not a Villain Character Card, and that creates some confusion - my apologies. I should have more specifically outlined how that works in the Rook City rulebook.

We know she is not a Villain Character Card, as every Villain has the keyword “Villain” right on their card. Citizen Dawn also has the keyword “Citizen” and Grand Warlord Voss has the keyword “Thorathian”, so we know that Villains can have keywords. However, The Operative has the keyword “Assassin” . . . but not “Villain”. She has Character Cards, but not Villain Character Cards. And the fact that she has Mr. Fixer’s nemesis icon does mean something. Whenever he deals damage to her, that damage is increased by 1. Whenever she deals damage to him, that damage is increased by 1.

I hope this helps. Again, my apologies for any confusion.
