Okay, I just got Rook City and was looking at Plague Rat’s deck. He has 5 infection cards, tons of ways to get them into play, but no way to get them from the discard?
Am I missing something? Or does the search his deck for infection cards include a way to get them back from the discard pile?
Or is he really tough even without the infections? They’re just an added bonus?

I don’t think you’re missing anything. Once you go through his whole deck, they’ll all shuffle back in, but until then, he’ll just have to be without.

Well I only played him once so far, but… It wasn’t an issue =p. I think you’ll find that the rat plague is a bit harder to shake than you might think at first.

We had one game where Visionary got Mental Divergence out. Sure his revenge for destroying it stung a bit, but he never flipped as a result.

Hmm… I haven’t played with official Plague Rat yet, but there were some cards (maybe all?) that said to search both the deck and the trash. It may have changed, I don’t know.

well broccoli, if its a 4 player game, I guess that if you’re willing to take 10 damage on all heroes you can keep him from flipping, but you’ll still have 3 infected heroes taking damage.

They changed it during playtesting. Originally Plague Rat would search the deck or discard pile for Infection cards.

Ours was a 3 players game. We burned down Plague Locus quick, and then we destroyed 3 as they came out, each dealing only 3 damage. The revenge damage isn’t irreducible, so Bunker’s Armored Plating, and Wraith’s Stealth softened the blows.
