- You are allowed to play cards that go next to another card when there are no applicable cards to do so (for example, Wrest the Mind with no non-character targets in play). The card goes to the trash but is not destroyed.
- Expatriette’s Ammo cards can be played without a gun in play. If that happens, the Ammo card is destroyed.
The above two rulings seem inconsistent. Am I missing something?

The wording is odd on the first one but the end result is the same in that the cards go to the trash. I would agree that the ammo being destroyed but the ongoing not being considered destroyed seems inconsistent.

Except some cards trigger off of destruction, so the terminology does matter.

Oh, I do that too. If you're quick enough, usually nobody will notice. But sometimes they do, and then this happens.
