So my group got into an argument over this last night. We've only played a few times (and love the game), so I figured I would ask here to see what the proper play should have been.
During the Environment turn the card "Atlantean Font of Power" was played.
At the end of the Environment turn, play the top card of the Villain deck. Play the top card of each Hero deck in turn order. If the played card is a Limited card already in play, discard that card and play the next card.
At the start of the Environment turn, destroy this card.
Our Mr. Fixer character pulled from the top of his deck "Overdrive"
You may use Mr. Fixer's "Strike" power twice this turn.
The argument was split, with Mr. Fixer taking this interaction to mean that he can immediately use his Strike power twice now (during the Environment 'Play an Environment Card' phase). His argument was that the card "Atlantean Font of Power" is designed to help the heroes get a boost on the villian/environment by giving them an extra card play, and that his "Overdrive" card meant he could use his Strike power now, not once, but twice, because "Overdrive" told him to.
I felt that this was incorrect, and that what actually should happen is nothing; Overdrive just allows Mr. Fixer to use his Strike power a second time when he could normally use a power, but since it was not that phase of the turn, he could actually do nothing right now (the card was essentially a 'dead card'). My argument was that normally, Overdrive would be played during his Play a Hero Card phase, and would simply give him an extra use of his Strike power when he reached the Use a Hero Power phase. Since we were already passed that point, during a time when he could not normally use a power, that he cannot use a power, let alone twice. If the card had said something like "Use the 'Strike' power twice now", then it would work the way he had described.
So my question is, what would be the correct resolution of this situation? Was Mr. Fixer right? Was I right? Were we both wrong, and it should have a different result?
Thanks in advance!
