We have numerous strategy guides for different heroes and villains, but none I can find for environments.  So. . . what kind of thoughts do people have on the many environments, and how best to handle them?  Which environments synergize with particular heroes or villains?

One discovery I recently made is that Grand Warlord Voss mixes oddly with Dok'Thorath Capital, because it has Minion flagged cards.  The result is that you need to clear all the minions from there, too, to get him to flip.  It also means that its that much easier for him to score his nonstandard victory, if your not careful.

The same thing happens with the Mobile Defense Platform, on the plus side it does mean that you can leave out a mechanic to prevent Voss flipping if it's the first environment card played.

I refuse to play the Ennead in Silver Gulch 18whatever. Nuit when flipped shuffles the environment trash into the environment deck, so if “Lost in the Past” is in play and you don’t have environment destruction in your hand, guess what, game over next round.

It’s something that can be strategized around if you know to look out for it, but it’s one of those things that just makes me mad because it’s a totally unfair way to lose the game.

I really like the way my custom environment at BGG based on The Phantom Tollbooth synergizes with Apostate.

One strategy that applies to multiple environments: If the environment has any "skip your turn to (Prevent Awfulness)" cards, take that into effect when ordering your heroes during setup.  Put someone first on the rotation who you don't mind skipping their turn every now and then.  Especially good candidates are Unity and Omnitron-X, as each has many cards that let them act during the Start of Turn phase, so can still get a lot done while "skipping" a turn.
