I made a new post and Craig helped up to sticky it up top forever and ever!

https://greaterthangames.com/forum/topic/clarifications-and-decisions-from-handelabra-christophers-fireside-chats-6773

I figured there's going to be some initial discussion and/or meta-discussion about it, so here's a post you can actually reply to =)

I spy a Freedom Six Tempest Question. Are those promos and Grandpa Legacy the next in line?

In any case, this is going to be seriously helpful. Thanks!

We have implemented some promos in the engine that are not available (and won't be necessarily for a while). That happened during development before we decided what the release schedule was going to look like.

Ouch for the Sentinels on Technological Singularity.  Good thing they only have one equipment.

I guess that the Freedom Tempest question is because of ... Ronway.

Unless they are in Caspit's Playground.

Well whether that's out or not hopefully the Block power was used before Omnitron plays that.

Shouldn't the sticky go in the "Sentinels of the Multiverse Rulings" forum?

I agree, that section seems to be where all "final" rulings belong.

Cards under other cards (like Omni-Cannon) are considered in play (but have no text) unless the card on top says otherwise. For Omni-Cannon in particular, those cards are in play but they did not enter play (because of magic). When they get put under Omni-Cannon, “when a card enters play” triggers do not apply. They count when considering “the hero with the most cards in play.”

Do the cards under Savage Mana count towards Haka's "cards in play"?  Omni-Cannon cards obviously are Bunker's no matter how you look at it, but Savage Mana cards at least used to belong to other people.

I'd say there's your answer. And they ARE in Haka's play area.

I'm sure with some Imbued Vitality shenanigans, I'd even say you could use F6 Tempest to blast your own cards like you could with La Capitan, if they are under Savage Mana.

So it doesn't matter whose cards are in your play area, they count as yours? That sounds wonky.

No, that's not what I'm suggesting. Perhaps I worded it badly. I'm just saying they're in Haka's play area.

His question is do they count towards HAKA'S CARDS IN PLAY.

So for example if Haka has nothing but savage mana out, but it has 2 t-rexes and 2 raptors under it from the environment deck.  For anything that triggers based on the hero with the most cards in play, does he have 1 or 5?  My guess would be one, but I could be wrong.  They are in his play area, but I wouldn't say they belong to him?  Whats the ruling for Kismet's Talisman when it is in front of a hero?  I think this would work similarly.

But you would agree that cards under Savage Mana would NOT count towards "the Hero with the most cards in play", yes?  (Unless shenanigans got soem of Haka's *own* cards underneath, of course.)

Similarly, would Haka's cards under La Capitan count towards the "Hero with the most cards in play"?

Savage Mana can only hold targets. Haka doesn't have the means to destroy anything else. I don't recall Tempest having any targets beyond his own character card.

As I said before, I don't believe they're Haka's cards, but they're in his play area. So if for some reason Haka decided to eat Unity's bots, they would count as Unity's cards in play.

Note that I presumed that with Imbued Vitality in play, thus converting them to targets, they could count as targets being destroyed. I could be wrong.

At that point, when the question is asked whether or not the destroyed card goes under Savage Mana, the answer should be "no". Otherwise, the other heroes may not want to play with Haka no more.

Even if it's Legacy's turn next and his Take Down or Enduring Intercession would go away? It would be no different from DW Fixer or Unity taking advantage of the board to generate plays.

No, unless they happen to be cards from his deck (via Imbued Vitality). The cards remain "Baron Blade cards" or whatever deck they came from. They do not count toward Haka's cards in play, because they are not his.

Haka's cards under La Capitan would count towards his cards in play.

Note: for similar reasons, Infection and the Rod of Anubis do not count as cards in play for the hero they are next to.

Quoting the link,

This confuses me. Is it only for duplicates?

Yes. We know that if a Limited card is played but one is already in play, it goes to the trash. The ruling days that you can’t intentionally do that By attempting to play the card.

That's a weird one.  There's already a mechanism in place to handle what happens when a Limited card is put into play while a copy of it is already in play, so why layer on a restriction to the player's behavior to say that not only will it not work, you can't even attempt it.  Doesn't the fact that it won't work cover the thing we're worried about, i.e. having multiple copies of the Limited card in play?  I say, let 'em try it.  Won't work anyway.  Worst case, a player can try to seed their trash with extra copies of Limiteds they already have in play anyway.

If Absolute Zero has a Modular Realignment in his hand, and is expecting some (partial) equipment destruction to come along soon, he could well want to dump a copy of a Limited-and-in-play card into his trash.  Whether he should be *able* to is, of course, a matter of opinion. But there's at least one legitimate use case.

And the rather more obscure case where you want to trigger Iron Legacy's Vigilance so that you can hit him with Combat Stance, but your only cards in hand are Limited copies.

A second copy of a limited card in play doesn't ever get played for any reason.  It goes directly to the trash rather than going from play to discard.

Perhaps so you can set up your limited equipment in the trash for recovery cards with rider effects. The only case I see this applying is La Capitan since she steals your stuff.
