Just wondering what thought people have on this card. I've played several games with this version of Tachyon and seems very powerful. All the other heros seemed to get to their maximum potential every game.

She pretty much owns, yeah.
Yep My wife pretty much only ever wants to play with her, so the rest of us inevitably end the game with nearly our entire decks in our hands. TLT's power should probably be more like "H-1" or "H-2" heroes can draw a card, not everyone.
She's a game-changer, for sure . . . If I were to tone her down a bit, I would probably have her let everyone but herself draw a card.
I guess it depends on your definition of what is too powerful.
She goes as far as any hero could without breaking the game, we reserve her for revenge matches after we get horribly owned in a not-fun way.
The interesting aspect is that she actually gets her bursts in her trash slower than original Tachyon, so yeah, she helps definitely helps everyone else, but…
This.
Yeah, but as I've made mention before--in my guide to Promo characters--Tachyon has so many cards that let her play multiple cards (Fleet of Foot, Lightning Reflexes, HUD Goggles, Pushing the Limits), that the relative loss in burst/trash cards is really minimal. All that plus a boost to HP? I'll play TLT over base Tachyon any day of the week.
I understand and generally agree with this perspective. TL Tachyon often, in many situations, improves the efforts of the team at a level previously unheard of with many characters.
What I appreciate about her power is the teamwork psychology that comes with "Team Lead".
Like Rabit said, Team Lead slightly hinders Tachyon's ability to generate Burst cards in her trash. It's not a terribly big deal because you can give everyone an extra card draw, and when you're done giving people extra cards you can start up effects that pump your own deck!
Except how often can you justify to the team that increasing your Burst cards in your trash by one or two is more important than increasing 2-4 other players' options with an extra card draw?
Though you could theoretically just boost your team for a while until you're comfortable to boost yourself it's often less efficient than just continuously boosting your team's card drawing ability. You give up the opportunity to cycle your own cards and build up your own abilities to build up the team instead. Tachyon slows down to help the team improve.
It essentially shifts Tachyon's play style to more of a Legacy flavor. You can do a lot of cool stuff with him. Deal immense damage, heal your teammates, become immune to particular types of damage, boost his damage, reduce damage taken, etc. But there are many situations where it's more beneficial to Lead From The Front, Take Down, Heroic Interception, or Bolster Allies and follow with a Galvinize. Typically he is at his most awesome when he is making others be more awesome. Tachyon only has a handful of powers, but Research Grant allows her to draw double the cards Team Lead does while still discarding a card to fuel her Bursts. As Team Leader Tachyon there are many situations where Team Lead just has more potential to help the team than a Research Grant.
Team Leader Tachyon rewards you for being a team player. I know players who cannot stand playing as support characters who adore playing her. Players that never play Tachyon actively want to play her Team Leader alternate. Part of it is her efficacy, yes. But they don't get the same excitement from playing powerhouses like Darkwatch Fixer or Elemental Wrath Absolute Zero (variants that many view to be "better" than their original character cards). While I understand the perspectives on her being "better" than classic Tachyon or "overpowered" with her innate there is a lot of impressive psychology associated with her design that helps players explore new strategies in a way completely different than any other character card.
I'm a huge fan of Legacy, Visionary, and a lot of other support characters and Tachyon is one of my favorite characters. Oddly enough I still prefer vanilla Tachyon to TLT. With vanilla Tachyon I play my entire hand and draw another three or four cards on top of that and THEN I get a power on top of that! It feels like icing on an incredibly slick and hearty cake. With TLT the power IS the turn. It's what everyone looks forward to, and the excitement of playing three cards or more in a turn is overshadowed by Team Lead. I've seen players rush through their turns and completely forget about entire card plays Tachyon has access to with Fleet of Foot, Lightning Reflexes, HUD Goggles, and Pushing the Limits. The cake and icing are gone. It turns into a few bags of junkfood hastily scarfed down with a pile of chocolate truffles you're scrambling to find a metaphor for. I mean, you get to share them with your friends, I suppose, and you get a truffle too…
Huh.
I guess what I'm saying is I like chocolate cake with delicious icing more than sharing truffles with my friends while I'm sick on junk food, and if that makes me a bad person then so be it!
I suppose I don't necessarily disagree with you or your perspective (though I stand by addressing Team Lead as different rather than strictly better than Rapid Recon). I just feel it's important to express my thoughts on why Team Leader Tachyon may be designed the way that she is and the value she brings in not only changing Tachyon's strategy, but causing players to appreciate the mindset that comes with core Tachyon.
I hope at least some of this makes sense. Now I'm hungry for chips and chocolate…
I agree fully.
TLT is boring to play. The mechanics are all the same, but the awesome design of Tachyon gets overshadowed by that power.
I bet you could discard your hand to start the game, skip every play and draw phase every turn for the entire game, and the 29hp and Team leader would contribute roughly the same as most heroes to win%.
I keep in mind that she's designed to lead heroes in taking down Legacy gone rogue. She's had huge shoes to fill and does it brilliantly, but I only ply her when she comes out on the randomizer as a treat or if I try to do pretty hard stuff like advanced Chairman. Thus is she a powerhouse definatly, will she tip scales in really hard game on her own not really and furthermore if you crash you are rewarded with incap abilities that don't shine as much as the original, but it's a fair price.
I guess it depends on your definition of what is too powerful.
What I was thinking when I say "too powerful" is that with her on the team, does the Win/Loss percentage that is expected against any particular Villain go so far up that the heros rarely lose.
For example, lets say GTG creators would like Baron Blade to Win 20% to 50% of the time. Fluctuations of winning depending on your team of heroes you choose. The game functionalities are balanced in a way to accomplish this percentage. But lets say by adding in TLT to your team, the percentage chance of Baron Blade winning drops to 1% to 10%. That would seem to be too powerful because it wouldn't fall in the balanced win/loss percentages.
I don't know about anyone else but I've played many games with TLT and lost only a single game with her on the team.
On the statistics TLT has one of the highest win percentages. Does she make the game TOO easy? Probably not or GtG wouldn’t have released her
I agree with Reckless, I want chocolate too
As a side note, I've never had the oppurtunity to play TLT

Probably better that way. She is addictive like chocolate
. Once you've had it, you can never go back.
It's difficult to assess her relative winningness by using the statistics. I reckon that in general, people playing wih promos are likely to be more experienced players, and therefore have a higher win percentage than people without promos.
TLT might therefore have a higher win percentage because she's disproportionately played by experienced players.
Just a thought.
Silverleaf…
Are you saying statistics are a LIE?
Yes please, Let's have this argument!
The big deal with TLT is she can overcome her teams bad hands, destroy villains/environments that force discards as an important part of their arsenal, and allow heroes like Bunker, Scholar, and Haka to abuse their "discard cards for damage" effects.
In return she gives up a card in her trash each turn other than when she has HUD Goggles in play and does not have Research Grant in play, or when the Tachyon player would keep the card revealed by her base power.
But even with HUD and research TLT is better set up to use Lightning Reflexes without wrecking her hand size, which does help offset the loss of burst cards.
Ove the course of a 12 round game Tachyon can expect to average 4-5 more burst cards in her trash than TLT. Where TLT really falls behind is when Research grant comes out early but HUD goggles doesn't, in that case Regular Tachyon is burning her deck faster and building her hand equally with TLT, with the extra card selection to the trash feeding her burst mechanic. But even that won't cause many TLT players to go away from Team Leader until other heroes are really set for cards to the point that additional cards hold very little value.
Does she have a higher win percentage than other promos?
Yes she does. I think only Greatest Legacy wins more and he has a boost because he’s new.
And part of the discrepancy caused by experienced players is offset by the fact that experienced players are more likely to post their games anyways.
Greatest Legacy + TLT. . .
Add Scholar, Haka and Nightmist and watch the fun...
Done that. "Haka of Battle. I hit her with my deck"
Are we using promo or regular Haka and Nightmist?
