<Split from Playtesting thread (that shall renamed unnamed)>

Do tactics dice not add up to 7 on opposing faces?

Nope. In fact, it is one of the complaints in this review.

Why have I not seen a thread of wild speculation on how this relates to the stories in the multiverse?

So we've technically been playing with the wrong dice through the entire playtesting experience…?

That's…really quite horrible, actually.

It was the first thing I noticed taking the game out, the dice were wrong.

The second thought I had on the dice was that I was rolling really well, and not nearly as likely to get into ruts of rolling the same number repeatedly.

SSS and all, but I like these dice.

Since Tactics is out in public, I thought I'd shift this conversation to a more public venue. Let me know if anyone has any concerns with that. (I do have con-brain, afterall...)

You’re stuck in a bunker and send time travelling cowboys to subdue criminals?

Yeah we noticed that when played the first time trying to work out an Aim.   It's certainly not the first game I've seen do this.

I wouldn’t call them "wrong "so much as atypical, or maybe independently minded.

In my defense (I wrote the review), it is a minor complaint.  When you are used to adding up the dice to 7 to find a number, it takes some getting used to.  But at least the numbers line up so that really you just have to remember 2 sides while the rest increase in order as you turn them.

The numbers look like Comic Sans, too.

I personally love the Tactics dice. Having said that, I'm not accustomed to assuming number locations on d6, so having them "spindown" like these do is great for me.

And I love the way they look!

Heh… I so wish…

You take that back!

It's the same as the font used on the cards, that's not Comic Sans.

RedStateBlueState, I believe.

Yes.  RedStateBlueState.  Often mistaken for Comic Sans.

Nope. RedStateBlueState is Sentinels of the Multiverse. AlterEgo is Sentinel Tactics.

Just to clarify, I was saying "RedStateBlueState is the font on SotM cards" rather than "RedStateBlueState is the font on Tactics cards" because I wasn't paying attention properly.

I haven't looked at the Tactics cards closely enough to notice the font, but it's good to know what it is!

AlterEgo is a for-pay font this time around (RedStateBlueState was free).  GtG is movin' on up.

Technically, they are all pay fonts if you use them commercially :)

Yeah, but for me to mimic your stuff in my accessories this time, I'd have to pay like $20.  I like you guys, but maybe not $20 worth.

Gosh. It would be terrible if one person bought the font and shared it with other people who are interested in making Tactics accessories, wouldn't it?

I would never in any way condone that kind of behaviour.

Spiff, if you, personally want that font, I will give you the $20 for it.

You guys are sweet. If I cared enough though, I'd just pay the $20 myself.
