There are 4 characters shown on Violent Nightmares (The Dreamer's villain deck for reference)

1) Illusionary Demon

2) Ra

3) Chrono-Ranger

4) Guise?

I always thought that 4th figure was the Treacherous Ape, what with the glowing eyes and the shard or whatever that is reflecting/causing the beam of light. Not that that would make much sense.

Looks Treacherous Ape to me.

No evidence to support Guise. No evidence to support anything, though. I Can see Treacherous Ape in the sillhouette, but no idea whats up with the glowing shard and beam of light.

The glowing shard that he is seen shooting a beam  of light out of at Tachyon in Lightning Reflexes? And is seen glowing on his own card? And the reason why he deals energy damage?

It doesn't look ape like to me at all. It's more human than anything.

No evidence to support guise, but the thing is clearly hiding in the shadows away from the action, which would seem to fit the speculated theme.

It's not really hiding from the action, it's sneak attacking Chrono-Ranger.

shhh Ronway. I just moved into a house from a 1 bedroom apartment, and now my cards are all the way downstairs in the game room - and its a pain to go get them to verify everything :p

And foote, i look at the long arms, and the hair legs of the silhouette to push for ape rather than human.

Clearly Guise is disguised as an ape.

So obvious…

That's good enough for me.

I wonder what other cards involve Guise in disguise?

Yeah I get that, but it could just be the way the shadow tapers off rather than hair?

To me it doesn't look like it is attacking Chrono at all. If anything it is shooting away from Chrono, allowing him to make an escape.

If it turns out to be the Ape, them the art direction to have it totally in the shadows seems extremely strange. Why so carefully hide the character in the way Adam did?

If everyone else but me sees an ape (somehow) I guess I'm the one looking at it wrong. But it is very suspect to me.

Humans are apes.

Lead From The Front? I count nine Protelariats, and Prot only has six in his deck (plus him), so that leaves two unaccounted for. Ergo, Guise is disguised as two of them. Either that or Unity has a pair of new Commie Bots…

It's absolutely not Guise. Joking aside, Christopher told me (in person, at Gathering of Heroes, so that means it's fair game for the forum) that Guise has not been in the game at all up through Vengeance, apart from the mention on Argentium's card. So there's no use speculating on "Is this him? Is THIS him? Is he THAT guy?" Because he's not.

Maybe Guise turns invisible.

And is in all the art.

Maybe Guise turns himself into inanimate objects, and he isn't in the game. . .

Because he is the game.

Boxwood, you should look in a mirror right now.

Turns out you've been Guise all along.

Tomato Guise and his sidekick Bacon Boy form a team with Commander Wheat Toast and LettuceHead to form a team known oddly as BLT.

A nemesis is me.

Wait.

McBehrer, do you remember exactly the question you asked Mr. Badell about Guise? I think wording is somewhat important when trying to elucidate those enigmas...

Yes.

First: Is the girl from Blighted Streets or Vigilance Guise (WAY back when, over the forum)

"No, Guise is Male."

Second, at Gathering of Heroes: Is Guise Thiago?

"Nope!"

Third, immediately following the second: Has Guise appeared in the game in any form up to this point?

"Nope!"

Something that struck me the other day is that the silhouette of treacherous ape mimicc the silhouette of Chronoranger. Furthermore, when looking at other cards featuring Treacherous ape, the stance is kind of reminiscent of a cowboy and possibly watching over the Dreamer. Keeping this in mind, could it be that the ape is the Dreamers interpretation of Chronoranger? And running away with this, has Chronoranger been keeping an eye on the Dreamer?
