COOOONNNNNNN
Some things that we know:
She's got rich-looking parents
the flavor text suggests that this is taking place prior to Mr. Fixer's comeback as a hero.
We have two left. I didn't realize my "let's dicuss this elsewhere" post would count. So I threw in a guess along with it just because I had no choice.
Two chances left.
We can do this.
Is that the Chairman in the picture with her? Maybe she's his daughter?
The Chairman? That would put him on Vigilance as well.
Small details:
She's got freckles. blonde hair.
Mother's collar has a fur ruff.
The card causes you to discard cards.
EDIT: I think we're looking at Ermine as a young girl.
Its the same girl on Vigilance as well. Does that timeline fit?
Has it been directly confirmed that the girl on vigilance and blighted streets are the same?
I still don't completely buy this. Their eye colors don't look the same to me.
Thats why I'm asking.
Blighted streets: Mr fixer is retired. So timewise, this is before the Freedom 5 were a big thing.
Vigilance: After Young Legacy's training with the F5, after many battles. Only AFTER all that does Blade kill her and set off Iron Legacy- and even then it takes a while for it to fully corrupt him. So she would be at least several years older. I really don't think its the same girl.
Could she be Lillian/The Matriarch, only in a different timeline?
Incidentally, Ermine fur is white, often with black bits. The mother's ruff could easily be a clue.
The father is the same guy though. I have to believe they are the same.
Ermine sounds like a good guess, and she would have come back in a major way if that was the case. But wouldn't such an experience make her afraid and hate criminals?
Does anyone have any objections to a guess of Ermine?
Maybe. It could have also taught her that you have to look out for #1, anyone can take anything if they have the will, and she should be the one doing the taking.
I submit that Ermine be one of our guesses. One vote for it from me. Anyone care to second this motion?
Huh, Ronway’s right about that, blighted streets girl has brown eyes vigilance has blue. So I’m with him on that one they can’t be the same, I’m currently scoring my cards to help but I can’t really hazard a guess.
Seeing as I made a guess without asking anyone, I think it would be alright to guess Ermine.
Am i allowed to second my own theory? we only have two more guesses...
alrighty, I'll make it formal over on the wiki thread.
Well, I did some more digging, and I have no more ideas as to who it could be.
Maybe he knows we dont have enough info to make a good guess...
Well played Christopher.
Or its Con.
Honestly if we don’t get a yes on Ermine I’m inclined to second you, simply because the two haven’t been tied together before and after Con she is the most speculated about character to appear in Sentinels. At least in recent history.
But didn't Christopher say somewhere that Con and Haka "Go way back." Would a little girl "go way back" with an ageless Maori warrior?
Thats a tricky statement, though.
Con and Haka could easily go way back- if you are talking baout Eternal Haka and Con in the final wasteland. How long have they lived in the Wasteland together? The only two sentient things still in existance (that we know about)?
They could go back centuries! Millenia!
So- from the perspective of Eternal Haka, yeah they could go way back.
I can say with 100% certainty from asking Christopher directly that, at the very least, she is NOT Guise. My guess is she is a character that has yet to appear, unless you know something I don't.
I'd point out that Con has timetravel capabilities, going way back does not mean they have both lived the same length of time.
For all we know Con could be the power source that keeps Haka alive, made sentient (Not really subscribing to that theory myself but I throw out the possibility)
I'd also point out that a matchstickman can be slang for a conman, not that I am suggesting that I am Con…
Not Sky Scraper. Not The Center (who we presume to be The Matriarch.)
I want to ask if she's actually someone who's appeared in the game thus far, though...
Ermine makes the most sense, she was born in Rook City. I don't know about the new mini-nemesis cards, could any of them be that girl?
KNYFE is Scottish, so unless they were visiting RC I don't see that one
No, I can't see any of the nemesis cards as her. most of them are male, and the few females are Calypso (made of water), as well as some others that don't resemble her at all. Several aren't even human.
I thought the presumption was young Vanessa was The Center.
Christopher never said that there could only be one guess per post.
He might call shenanigans if posts are edited, though.
We've used up the number of posts he said he would respond to, so lets see what he says about the guesses already up.
I was too late to guess, but I did it anyway.
On a related subject, Is there any possibility that Calypso is the "Old Lady in the Street" from Miss Info's deck? If so, might she also be the ice-spraying villain who's seen on Tachyon's incap? If Calypso just turns into water, I'd find that kind of lame...but if she's got a "seasonal" theme, where she can either be a young girl with water powers or an old lady with ice powers, then that suddenly becomes cool again.
She is very likely the "Old Woman" in the street. Ice/Water who knows about her being on tach's incap, though that is possible.
Hey, we won! Good job, forumites! See how smart we are when we put our heads together?
We can accomplish anything!
That "CON and Haka go way back" thing doesn't necessarily mean they go way back together. Maybe it just means they've both lived a long time, and Christopher worded it like that just to throw us off the trail a bit.
If they are connected, maybe CON's the reason why Haka is immortal (or whatever he is).
I don't have the cards in front of me, but I thought the old lady was Citizen Winter from Dawn's deck.
Oh, no, Con and Haka go way back and know each other well. Sorry for being unclear.
*grin*
*smoke-bombs*
No, it's already been confirmed that they are not the same people.
I don't think Calypso is the same person as Old Lady in the Streets. For starters, Old Lady in the Street is some sort of spectre/ghost from a race called a Cryo Shade. (No relation to the ship CryoShade in GSF.)
Con is the Hippo.
Whence this factoid?
KantCon, 2013.
Awesome!
I'm really no further on, but awesome.
I wonder if you were right about Con being his source of immortality. Well maybe not immortality but resurrection, maybe Con rescues Haka at the moment of death each time he dies and teleport him a safe distance away about a day or so later.
Could Con be Tachyon?
After the F6 leader got blown in the knee cap, what would one of the most brilliant scientists in the world do?
I have a hard time getting past the Con = Unity in some capacity though. But its gotta be something else.
I still think Con is Golem Unity's incap side.
CON's voice does sound a lot like Unity.
HIPPO CON NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!!!
Come on guys, get on the bandwagon.
I've always held (since the idea was presented months ago) that CON is Unity. Still do.
How much are the badges?
Is it possible that CON is the Final Wasteland version of Bunker? Is it possible that “CON’s bunker” doesn’t read as “the bunker CON owns” but instead reads as “CON is Bunker” since the flavor text of the card says “the big metal structure? That’s me!” I’m wondering if it’s possible that at this point in the timeline that Bunker is now an AI building to equip people for protection rather than a weapons suit to protect people. If this is a duplicate question and has been answered before I appologise. I don’t exactly follow the evidence of CON=Unity. If someone wants to private message it to me I would love that.
I like this one a lot. Especially the "CON's Bunker" thing. I can still totally buy the Unity thing, but I like this one.
If Bunker is the SotM Iron Man analogue, there's precedent for this theory in comics. During Matt Fraction's run on Invincible Iron Man, Stark downloaded a backup copy of his brain into a hard drive before proceeding to delete his own mind in an effort to keep Norman Osborn from unlocking the Superhuman Registration database and learning many heroes' secret identities.
Plus, it'd be just like Christopher to leave the answer in plain sight... :P
Now that I’m thinking about it the two aren’t mutually exclusive. G-Unit could build the new Bunker eventually becoming CON and the new Bunker(or Conviently Obtuse Noun.) That explain the evolution of an AI in a previously piloted suit.
or even Conveniently...
Sorry, I mostly get on the forums with my phone.
That's a painful experience. These forums are not what you'd call optimized for an easy mobile viewing experience.
Too true. I almost exclusively interact via the mobile site also. It used to be worse, but Joel and I had a chat that fixed a few things.
I browse the forums just fine from my phone while at work. Was happy to know I had Vengenace waiting for me when I got home.
A little necromancy, here, for a wild theory, based on this part of the Sentinel's bio :
Across town, young Miranda Fischer’s mother was conducting experiments, using her daughter’s developing telekinetic abilities to power an infernal device she had built in hopes of bringing Miranda’s father back from beyond the grave.
The girl is Miranda. The card shows the day her dad died, killed in Rook City. Proof ? None :)
And to be even more "silly" : after is death, her dad was resurected by a cosmic power to fight against powerful extraterestrial entities. He had latent psychic powers (the ones his daughter inherited), this made him a good candidate. He lost his memories, and Captain Cosmic does not remember he has a child on earth :D
Christopher confirmed that Braithwhite's theory of the girl being a young Ermine was in fact correct.
I could believe the Captain Cosmic part though. Or else something else...there's no way the whole "use her psychic powers to raise the dead" thing is just isolated mad-sciencery. Gotta have connections to some other SOTM character.
Hmmm. An attempt to raise the dead using Miranda's psychic powers. A hatless (and therefore dead, according to Christopher) Dark Watch Fixer. Coincidence?
So Hippo is Con, and the little girl from Blighted Streets is Mr. Fixer.
Got it.
It's more likely that Zhu Long is responsible there, since he's the dragon Fixer punched and also appears on one of his other cards (and possibly in the background of DWMF, although that might just be a piece of architecture or a papier-mache float or something).
Why would Zhu Long raise his nemesis? How does his nemesis being alive around to interfere benefit him?
The Joker doesn't kill Batman because he's too much fun.
Everyone else is fair game.
He might enjoy the challenge of having a worthy adversary. He might believe Fixer can be converted to his way of thinking. He might be a seven-thousand-year-old immortal who is honor-bound to repay a favor that Fixer's great-great-great-to-the-umpteenth-grandfather did him in back in predynastic Egypt when they were both slaves of the Forgotten Pharaoh, and thus protects Fixer's life even while arranging for him to be out of the way of his schemes. There are any number of possible explanations.
Maybe Zhu Long is just the "bad" dragon, the one who brings evil ones back to life, and there is a "good" dragon somewhere who brought back Mr Fixer.
Or maybe Zhu Long discovered a new very powerful mystic menace, something so dangerous for him and his plans that he decided to bring back his old powerful ennemy to fight it. Leading to the creation of the Dark Watch.
Or Nightmist used powerful spells to force Zhu Long to bring back Fixer (or to ressurect him herself). Or negociated with him.
Or Zhu Long was trying to resurect someone else, but Setback made him fumble and Mr FIxer was back instead ![]()
Or…
or Zhu Long thought that in bringing him back he could control him but he couldn't...
or ...
Or Fixer is the "good" dragon...
Zhu Long is a jerk.
Zhu Long is just mad that Mr. Fixer thinks he is the last dragon.
Does that mean that Fixer can use the Glow?
And together, they are Double Dragon!

Sho'nuff!
Now I want to watch The Last Dragon and Black Dynamite at the same time. Because Fixer done told you that he don't like to be interrupted when he does his kung-fu! Also Sho'Nuff. Because he is "Duh Mastuh".
How do you think Fixer's pal, Charlie, took his boss's demise and resurrection?
Two TVs or like one video with the others audio?
Two TVs. One for Styles and one for Tools.
So "Project Runway" and "Home Improvement".
