Speculation Fuel reference thread

The speculation thread is off and running rampantly. One of my favorite fan communities (for Jim Butcher's Dresden Files) maintains a series of posts archiving various things known to be true about the future of the series (referred to as Words of Jim). My intention is, with help, to try to collect and link similar statements by Christopher, Adam, and Paul regarding the future plans for the game -- for example, that two more expansions are planned after the release of Vengeance (which statement is oft-quoted, although as a latecomer to the party, I haven't ever seen the original).

Any assistance in finding such statements would be appreciated - I'll reserve a post or two below in case of a character limit per post, but then have at it.

This would be something great to include in the fan-managed SotM wiki actually!  Don't know if you knew about that?

I knew about it, but the places I saw for speculation were connected to individual decks rather than more generally.

Pydro, thanks for the thread link. I'll troll through there for specific items & posts to edit into the main post.

I suspect that it is difficult to find an official quote about there being "exactly two expansions after Vengance" because that is just a paraphrasing of some things we have implied and not an absolute truth (because it depends on what you mean by "expansion"). Things that are true:

1) There is a "regular" expansion after Vengeance.

2) There is a "final" expansion to the card game story arc.

3) There are a few mini-expansions, accessories, and special expansion-like things that we have planned out and are super excited to publish, market willing.

Is one of those things a redesigned and updated playmat? Please, oh please. :-)

"Expansion-like things"? 

What would an "Expansion-like thing" thats not a mini-expansion look like? A pack of mini expansions with a fancier name? Would promo cards fall under that catagory? 

I hope not soon, I just put the $50+ down for a mat with my Vengeance pre-order and I'd feel dumb if they released a better playmate right now.

"Better" may be misleading.  "Different", however, may apply considering certain things that will be released in the future.  I've been using the playmat for over a year and it was an excellent investment!

Yeah, I love having our placemats (as I call them, since I had to cut up the playmat to fit our table).
