One of the very few, and very minor things that I wish that GtG had done differently is that I wish that they had given each individual hero deck its own distinctive art for the backs of the Hero decks.
Each of the villains and environments has a distinctive, stylish, awesome backing- my favorites being Kismet's Native American trickster and Dawn's propagan-tastic RISE! Each one gives you just a little more about them, and immerses you just that little bit more.
The heroes get standardized backs, based on which expansion (or the base game) they are from. Its actually a bit difficult to tell (for instance) Nightmist's deck apart from the Argent Adept's at a casual glance.
So, I tend to think about what I wish they had for their backings. And i'm wondering what you guys think. In practical terms, I tend to think that the hero's names aren't always necessary on the backs of the cards (if you make them distinctive enough).
Here's my thoughts:
Legacy: White and blue card, with the lantern Symbol in the center. (much like Iron Legacy's)
Wraith: The Wraith shilhouetted on on gargoyle against a stormy sky. Her eyes and bandages are white, the rest of her is black.
Tachyon: Tachyon in full sprint, circles and goggles leaving red trailers.
Bunker: The Bunker suit (open) in it's bay being rearmed, repaired, and weapons being fitted.
AZ: AZ's triangular symbol glowing blue on a field of black.
Ra: A giant, fiery sun rising over the desert.
Tempest: A jagged pillar of lightning coming out of a gathering storm.
Visionary: An opalescent ball of colors, with a figure taking shape within them
Haka: Haka, holding up the couch (with one hand) to vaccuum underneath it. His folded laundry (including his outfit) is stacked neatly beside his weapons.
Fanatic: A praying (while armed and armored) Fanatic in a pool of candlelight.
Unity: The pieces of raptor bot coming together in mid-assembly
the Scholar: A half-full white russian (with tiny umbrella), beaded with condensation in the sun.
Expatriette: A workbench with a gun in mid-cleaning, loaded cartridges and spare ammo next to it. Many other guns are in brackets on the wall behind it.
Mr. Fixer: Fixer on a moonlit night, smoking a cigar and sweeping the front of his shop.
The Argent Adept: Silver card, with the (insert favorite of his instruments) in the middle.
Nightmist: a dark street, with a trenchcoated woman under a streetlight is turning into mist.
Omnitron X: Omnitron's-X's red symbol blazing in the middle, surrounded by dark blue.
Chrono-ranger: Chrono's timey-wimey badge in the middle, crackling multi-colored lightning all around.
If you could get art for the card backs, what would you go with?
