Art questions

This is a thread for miscellaneous observations and inquiries about the art of SOTM.  I've been told before that rules questions should not go in a big unsorted thread, but since these aren't about the rules, hopefully not a big deal.

Today's question - what's going on with Trueshot's legs?  They have a burnished-metal tone which doesn't look natural and doesn't match the color of her face.  Is she wearing Lycra pants, or some sort of futuristic artificial tan, or maybe an alchemical preparation that toughens her skin into natural armor?

Totally fine with me - art isn't something peole are as likely to search on or scroll through the forum for.

As to Trueshot's legs, I'd have to look at the art; I don't have it here at the office.

Is Fanatic's Incap side a reference to the Spawn comic?

I think it's a homage to X-Men Mutant Massacre.  Angel was pinned to the wall by Harpoon, later on his wings were amputated.

thanks! I've googled for the image refrence (impaled angels) and the most I found was Spawn references, missed the X-Man.

Just for kicks, anyone does not think that Hairtrigger Reflexes is a reference to Time Crisis? First level of the first arcade.

There is no question in my mind that that is a Time Crisis reference. TC2 was the best arcade shooter in the history of everything as far as I am concerned haha.

Citizen Anvil appears to have energy "wings".  What do you suppose was Fanatic's reaction when they first met?

Yeah, given her eyepiece and glowing weapon, I figure it's some kind of high-tech, protective tights.

I'd love to eventually see a list of all the incap sides' references, since I'm pretty sure it's been stated before that every incap side is usually inspired by a certain piece of art in some comic or another. I've seen a few of them, but I'd love to see them all.

I'd go with Golem unity (while adding creepy to it)

For sad it'd be hard to top Young Legacy...dad holding his daughter's limp body in his arms.  At least with Golem Unity, she could eventually get out.  We all know what happened with Paulina though....even if she got better (something that may not even be possible - unlike in established comic verses, Seninels has no history of resurrections), it probably wouldn't fix Paul, not after he'd already gone over the edge.

Seriously, shot right in the knee?  Dang.

I find the saddest one to be TL Tachyon. It's probably because she's my favorite and I've gotten so attached to her, but the sight of her in such intense pain that she's openly crying genuinely makes me tear up whenever I look at it for too long. Normally she just cringes in pain, but seeing her crying makes me really sad.

In terms of depressing, I get a major vibe of "Damn... that BLOWS" from Eternal Haka's incap side. I assume that what we're looking at is the remains of the library he swore to protect, so seeing him see the ruins of it makes me quite sad.
