Just wondering if anyone had a theory about why TLT has shorter hair than normal Tachy. I was looking at the cards to see if maybe it was a hinderance once (got caught in something, etc.), but the only thing I found was Miss Information holding her by her hair. Any ideas?

Maybe some of it got burned off by a near miss so she had it cut short to even it out.

It may be a more mundane reason than crime-fighting danger -- maybe she had children and shorter hair has less baby-tugging hair moments..

Something like that would be just as interesting, and add a lot to the character, especially in a world ruled by Iron Legacy.

Hm…who would Tachyon have children with, I wonder…unless you mean she might have adopted some? Presumably the sexual preference of that universe's Tachyon is the same as the one in "our" universe, so the thought of her having kids doesn't seem to quite fit.

Artificial insemination or simply having sex with a donor friend.
In case anyone isn't sure, I am not joking. I have close friends who have gone this route.

Adoption or fostering are also possibilities.
Another mundane possibility- I keep my hair short because long hair is a danger in a lab, and it's annoying to tie it back all the time (and my hair being very fine & slippery mean hair ties fall out a lot). Maybe Tachyon got fed up with ponytails?

I talked to Adam this morning. She cut it because, uh, she cut it. She changed her hair styles preferences (like many of us do ). Nothing exciting.

Next really important question, who cuts her hair and how does Tachyon stand the 40 minutes of sitting in the same place?

She might cut her own hair (I cut mine which is waist length, and used to when it was about the same length as TLT's as well). No hairdresser training required for a simple cut like that!
As for why TLT has shorter hair, I'd always thought that it was simply to visually distinguish her from regular Tachyon. As for an in-character reason, well it could be anything.
And Tach's an amazing scientist - she's done great work in multiple fields, and in a world where speed suits and cryo chambers and battle mechs and such have been created I'm sure she's managed to figure out how to fuse two ova together to create a viable zygote so that two women could have a mutual biological child.

I imagine Since Unity is a part of the freedom six Tachyon and her designed a swift-bot hairstyling program so Tachyon could get her hair cut in a reasonable amount of time.

...she got chewing gum stuck in it. Can you imaging blowing bubbles at Mach-2?

Poor Swift Bot, she can't really change her hairstyle as Tachyon does, WONT SOMEONE THINK OF THE BOTS!!

She probably cut it because short hair on women is usually attractive.
This is a fact.

Also, women are attractive in general, hair or not. Common. I know you saw GI Jane in theaters.

Hmm... I'm guessing that "anything with a pulse" might be taking it a bit too far, eh?

I heard a very bad story last week about a teenager (friend of a friend of a friend) and a raw oven-ready chicken which was, um, used, multiple times, and left in his room for about a month.

I heard a similar story where someone used a cantelope...
WAIT. Why are we going this direction? Did this all stem from my comment about short-haired women being attractive? I vote we turn this car around. Someone else take the wheel--I'm going to need that entire bottle of wine.
