A moment of your time, please!

Hey, I'm in the middle of writing something 'Sentinels' theme, and I've been wondering a few things about Unity and her golems.

Firstly, how much 'personality' do they have? Do they have their own base level of sentience and such, or is it really like she's just channeling her personality through them?

And since we're on the topic, what does everyone think on Omnitron-X's personality? I know that he has one, but how far along the line is he between robots and human?

Have you read he flavor text of the golems? (Especially the one made after tachyon? Lol) I'm not sure, but it seems like they have a version of how Unity sees the hero and would describe them as a personality. (My thoughts at least, but jagarciao has a point.)

I'd say don't limit yourself by people's opinions on how these characters behave. They are all vague enough for you to bring them to life any way you view them. I, for one, really enjoy it when someone develops a character in a manner I hadn't thought of before. 

Well, based on the flavor text of Swift Bot, the only bot that actually says anything (actually Turret Bot says, "Budda, Budda, Budda"), it seems like it is a lot of Unity's personality.

For myself, I don't see the bots as having any AI at all - they are drones being operated electrokintcally by Unity.  O-X, on the other hand, I portray as being fully a "person," with emotions and all that, because it's a plot point that it's not just an unfeeling machine, and I think most of the robots in fiction who making toeing that line a major hook are boring retreads.

But if I wanted to share that enough to write a story, I'd write a story.  As everyone is saying, do things your way.  No apologies, and no looking back!

I imagine O-X as a very Red Tornado/Data sort of character. No emotions, but just on the cusp. Part of his relentless pursuit to become human means attempting them.

As far as the bots? I imagine them as personality caricatures.

Taking an excerpt from the bio of O-X:

 This new, tenth form of Omnitron realized with horror, a new emotion, that its previous purpose had been death and destruction! It focused its new efforts on returning to its point of origin to destroy itself before millions of lives could be threatened! 

This seems to mean that O-X at the very least, "felt" both horror and from the empathy chip... Well... Empathy. So, he wouldn't be as cold as Tornado or Data (tv show). But I can't picture him showing the emotions as outwardly as Data in the movies.

Yeah, I don't see moods being a thing Omnitron-X has.

His Empathy allows him to care for others at the minimum and to be horrified by the idea of wiping out living things for no reason.  I don't imagine we'd see happy or angry or sad Omnitron-X, more of a mister Spock than a data, but you know, lacking a full range of emotion, rahter than supressing it.
