Miss Information's Flip Side

Something has been bothering me a bit about Miss Information. Her deck is fantastic and everything, and I love her character concept to death. But one thing confuses me about her: namely her flip side.

The idea behind Miss Information is that you can't attack her initially because you don't even know she's a villain yet. It is only once she has left behind enough clues and been revealed as the villain that she truly is that you can start fighting her. But the problem I have with that is that with her deception pierced, how in the world does she actually fight the Sentinels? In one of her cards, the name of which escapes me at the moment, she is show in her villainous persona, in full costume, holding a defeated Tachyon by the hair. My first question when I see that card is always: "how the hell did that happen?" How could a normal human being with no superpowers or special training beat Tachyon in a fight? My understanding of Miss Information was that her main advantage was deceit and intelligence, so I would think that when she is finally cornered and her schemes are revealed, the fight is pretty much already over. After all, she's not some master martial artist like Wraith or Fixer, nor a gun-totting supersoldier like Expatriette, she's just a very smart woman who happens to be a very effective actress.

Therefore, I don't really understand how she even continues to fight once her schemes have come crashing down. One would think that she has pretty much already lost at that point, yet the fight continues, often for quite a while. Why do her informatin manipulation abilities still work once the heroes know she's been decieving them?

My only explanation is that Miss Information has been preparing for when she is inevitably discovered, hacking the Sentinel's communications, sabotaging their equipment in ways that don't become apparent until she wants them to, maybe even setting bombs or other traps up ahead of time. I always viewed her HP on her flip side as the challenges one has to get through to reach her, rather than her actual health. Let's face it, Legacy or Haka could probably snap her in half with a single punch. It's the same thing with the Chairman, we can't really picture him being hit by a blast of fire from Ra and just shrugging it off, he doesn't typically fight directly.

Still, that one picture of her and Tachyon still baffles me. Miss Information is out in the open, with no defenses, no backup, no special weapons or traps (or at least none that we can see)... How in the world has Tachyon not simply mopped the floor with her yet? Just a slightly confusing image from my perspective.

The same way every non-powered person, regardless of training level, beats up every enemy with superhuman powers (especially speed or invulnerability) in every comic ever: contortions of writing, the superpowered person making terrible use of their powers, and knowledge of said foe's weaknesses.  Fill in the blanks however you want to, from Aminia just stone cold grabbing Wraith as she runs past with a quick line of "I've watched this move in slow motion hundreds of times - of course I was ready," (and, be honest, does that make any less sense than, say, a T-Rex tagging someone who can be in a different time zone in seconds?) to Dr. Stinson having an allergy to lemons and stopping for a coughing fit as she runs to attack Miss Information (who is, of course, surrounded by a cloud of lemon juice), to her just waiting for Tachyon to come in for the attack, then shouting "No!  I can't fight it!  You have to stop this thing before it-" and then attacking the hero when she stops to try and help the "posessed" secretary, to the occasional theory on the boards that Miss Information did get some level of superpower from the timestream, to us just cutting to that panel from some fight against a Diversion happening elsewhere with no explanation, as it is on the card.

The possibilities are practically endless, and the precedents for them in comics much moreso, both good (civilian identity superheroes taking out Doctor Light without using their powers, by exploiting his megalomania) and bad (a man taking down the entire Justice League at once with minimal training or physical conditioning, due to the unstoppable power of wearing a silly hat).

Ironic

While Ironic does hit the nail on the head, you can concoct some (semi) plausible theories.

1. she's a master of clandestine sabotage and long-range planning.

2. she's had full access to their wardrobes and equipment.

3. she's amassed detailed files on their habits, tactics, weaknesses, etc.

4. She has an amazing amount of skill at maneuvering events.

Even once she is discovered, the F5 are going to have to deal with events she set in motion prior to putting on the mask and costume.  Sure, they know its her...but have they found all the traps?  It seems likely that she would have countermeasures prepared in th event of her discovery.  

My guess as to how she took down Tachyon?  she rigged Bunker's targeting computers to fire adhesive foam, slowing her down, then initiated Bunker's recharge mode so that he would shut down.  The other's were off dealing with events she planned in advance.

Either that, or Tachyon is bluffing, and is just letting her think she's still in control and all her plans are still working.
