See what I did there? No, not yet? Read on.

Maybe I've been reading too many back-issues of comics and watching too much Deep Space Nine, but has anyone wondered what's going on with political authority figures in SotM? You don't really see much more than an errant, nearly-impotent policeman. And I have a theory.

Government does nothing because government is an agent of an enemy. Skinjobs or shapeshifters, our planet has been infiltrated. And it's only a matter of time before it comes to a head.

FILTER may catch a small piece of the puzzle, not knowing it's a piece of something larger. Or perhaps they're in on it, locking up those who've figured it out.

Or maybe. Just maybe. Maybe Mr. Fixer or Wraith over there is one of them.

Thats [redacted].  You can [redacted] in several [redacted], though they are semi-obscured by the [redacted].  The masks are [redacted] and [redacted], unless [redacted][redcated][redacted].  [redacted] takes [redacted] and the whole [redacted] unravels.

I'm not sure I believe any of it.

I am currently re-watching the X-Files on Netflix. This thread hits too close to home currently

If there is an evil government conspiracy, why would you not assume that F.I.L.T.E.R. is at the heart of it?  Mock Police Backup if you must, but they at least target bad guys exclusively -  F.I.L.T.E.R. is more than willing to take down heroes.

Of course!  Now it all makes sense.

The Mad Libs there made me laugh more than anything else today.
