So, Chrono-Ranger is another male hero who is, naturally, in his mid-40s.  Sentinel Comics really has a thing.

However, I can't be even a little disappointed, because of the real news here: Omnitron-X is only five feet tall!  That adorable robot is also tiny!  This is a good thing.

Ironic

P.S. Unless I missed something, the only new information outside of the numerical section is that Chrono-Ranger is hunting down cryptids, as part of his efforts to avert The Fnal Wasteland, which is also really cool.

P.P.S. Also, no bio for The Scholar, but I assume this because even the servers cannot pay attention to The Scholar for more than a few seconds.

Scholar has a bio, but you have to click on the mini-expansion tab in order for it to come up.

Ah, so he does.  The "give or take" in his age made me chuckle, but nothing else enlightening.

Looking at the villains, though, sheds a little light.  Looks like Capitan and Kismet are both in their 20s - for Kismet that's about what I guessed, but Capitan surprises me, since I'd thought she would be cast as having spent decades plundering the timestream.  I suppose that age is a relative term for such a person, but still, it at least implies she has less experience that one might think.  Also, we now know the name of La Capitan's ship - La Paradoja Magnifica, "The Paradox Magnificent".  That is stylish, Maria, I'll give you that.

Perhaps more meaningfully, the power sources of some characters aren't what you'd expect: Kismet has "Genetic" as well as Luck and Magic Talisman, implying that her family's ongoing fortune isn't just because of the item they carry, but also due to some innate trait they posess - the dark mirror to Legacy continues.  Likewise, La Capitan doesn't have "Time Travel," like some other characters, but "Time Cataclysm."  To me, this implies that she (like Astro City's Samaritan) has some actual superhuman physical traits due to her trip through the rift, while someone like Chrono-Ranger has only gained technology and experience.

On the hero side of the same coin, listing "Empathy" as one of Omnitron-X's powers is a really nice touch, saying quite succinctly that the new Omnitron is stronger because of what it has gained.  That, or it has Raven-style magical healing, but I tend to assume the former.

Fun stuff, even after most of the bios themselves were spoiled - I like it!

Ironic

P.S. Of course, really, characters bios and even text take a back seat here.  The new bios have shown me my new Favorite Thing In Sentinels - it's the rainbow-haired punk shooting energy blasts in the upper right-hand corner of The Block's splash.  Look at him!  Such a totally absurd yet iconically simple design is a thing of beauty.  What might his name be?  Raver?  Psypunk?  Rainbow Clash?  Whatever his name, he is clearly the most fantastic aspect of Sentinels continuity - I would not complain if he was the enemy in literally every piece of Sentinels art, forever.  He is so totally awesome (nay, totally radical), I instantly recovered from my initial sadness that the blues armored guy getting effortlessly flung aside by Freight Train is not, in fact, Siege-Breaker, better knwon as Evil Gordon Freeman Who Gets Blasted On Polyphoric Flare.  I really wanted it to be him, just in the hopes that all his appearances would be him grabbing someone, and getting pwned - the Bad Hugs supervillain.

I want to say that guy is supposed to be Char? And Siege-Breaker isn't hugging anyone on his card (and other appearances, IIRC) in La Capitan's deck.

Love reading these. Wanted to point out that none of the heroes' bios have been updated with their ST promos yet.

So Iron Legacy is 65, and base Legacy is 47. So i'm guessing Young Legacy may have died while Legacy was in his early 60s?

Or possibly some time in his 50s (including very early). Iron Legacy doesn't represent his debut or anything.

Yeah, I was hoping we'd get to see the bios of the Freedom Six so we could learn the secrets of how they ended up the way they did.

But I still like the new bios! Now with the plain character arts, I can make some Chrono-Ranger and Omnitronks buttons!

Iron Legacy's bio straight-up presents Pauline's death as an alternative to Paul VIII's, so I assume she died in an alternate version of the Vengeance crossover, set in the immortal "modern day" of Sentinel Comics.

I did not know that Siege-Breaker was in La Capitan's deck, since my copy of Shattered  Timelines  is still in shipping - neat.  And where would I find Char?

Ironic

P.S. And, seriously Parsons family, the name thing is pretty odd.  I know that you're pretending that Paul Revere was good at things and all, which is silly enough, but keeping the same name for hundreds of years, with enough dedication to name girls Paul?  That's even worse, guys.

They give her a middle name too. I assume she goes by Felicia?

And how is it any weirder than George Forman's kids? Er... maybe not the best example

Aha. Char can be found as a target in The Block, although without his rainbow hair IIRC. That image is another card in that deck, btw.

Does anyone care if I update my Bios doc with this new info or not?  I'm not sure if a PDF containing all the bio information is anything that people even use. If it is, I'm happy to do it. But if everyone just uses the website and not the PDF, I won't bother.

The thing Paul Revere was good at (in the Sentinels Comics continuity) was being a father-figure, mentor, and friend to Joseph Parsons.

That was enough.

If Revere was good at being a silversmith, that's a change from our world's history, but you guys are right - if anything, I should be glad that in Sentinels continuity, lionized screw-up Paul Revere got to do something right and really make a difference.  Surely, everyone deserves that chance.

The name thing is still strange, but when Revere did so well and the Legaciesre clearly carrying on the tradition out of respect rather than George Foreman-esque vanity, it's not so bad.

I thought he was well known for his work.

On a completely separate point. I was looking at the Paul Revere wikipedia page, scrolled down and saw "Legacy" in big letters. I was so disappointed.

EDIT: I just wanted to add that the fact that he was a silversmith (regardless of how good) is significant to SotM.

I see that Aminia Twain first appeared in Freedom Five Annual #3, and from the flavour text of her deck she betrayed the heroes in Freedom Five Annual #21. It must have been quite a shock for the readership.

Actually, this raises a question I have had for a while. Do we know if the books were monthly?

EDIT: Also wanted to add the while that was a fantastic catch, there might be other factors. When DC put out the issue #0, it was the book for that month. The normal numbering started the next month.

The Annual series comes out every year, the regular Freedom Four/Five series I think were being released monthly. Basically the Annuals are where are the really cool stuff happens, such as crossovers with all the other awesome heroes typically occur.

Since we've seen two Omnitrons in the "modern day" so far, only having eight more in the next ten decades seems a little slow.

In my group, we say that there have been 178 Omnitrons before Omnitron-X.  It gave itself that designation because it, unlike previous Omnitron iterations, is a variable, able to see and set new courses of action.

I do tend to use the website more often than not, but having a pdf that I could print might become useful in the future. I'm debating running a block of Sentinels at my school's convention next year (sping of next year so a lot could change with that idea)

Or if Omnitron was built by Apple we would have Omnitron-I, Omnitron-IS, Omnitron-II, Omnitron-IIS, Omnitron-III, Omnitron-IIIS, etc.

Side One: Ace Custom is red, and plays three villain cards per turn.

Side two: Combined Power has you put all your Drones face down below the villain card.  Devices get +X damage this turn, where X = the number of drones in the pile, and deals the non-Villain targets with the highest and lowest HP each [H-1] damage at the end of the villain turn.  When Omnitron flips back, the Drones come back into play, at full HP.

Just a word on the annual: it comes out once a year, yes, but not every year. It only appears if there's a particular story they want to tell with it. There's a quote to this effect somewhere on these forums, but I'm not certain where it is.

If I may connect the dots here for just a moment...

Paul Revere was a silversmith...

The Legacy ring is made of silver(or at least appears to be)...

Who knows, maybe that's something everyone already knows, but this seems pretty cool to me.
