Any guesses on who/what the promo hero deck will be if we get to $100K?

I'm wondering if its Chrono-Trigger. I hope not....

*Chrono-Ranger

But I appreciate the SNES reference. Still haven't beaten that game yet.

And I'm gonna take my generic guess and say maybe Prime Warden #5. I have no other guesses. Really, it could be anyone.

I would guess not Chrono-Ranger as he's the nemesis of an already published non-promo villain (and has featured on several cards, with his name in the flavour text)

My guess is a variation on a certain time traveling doctor

"Bones" McCoy?

I'd like for Iugaru's guess on another topic to be correct - a FILTER agent turned hero.

Do I really need  to   say   it ?

However, given that you have no idea who I was referencing I would guess the chances are approaching zero.

I don't remember The Doctor being so... Hairy.

I'm already expecting this expansion to be loaded with DW references. But if the extra hero was actually supposed to be a Doctor-esque character...

I think I'd die.

Same here. Allons-y! Bow ties (and fezes) are cool. Imagines Omnitron-X in fez and bow tie trying to understand why humans wear them. Breaks mind

But we're all in agreement that if this extra hero was to be based on the Doctor, he'd have to be based on the 9th Doctor, right? Because as we all know...

The 9th Doctor is the best and coolest of them all.

What about Doctor Blade ? A time travelling version of the former evil genius, now helping his former ennemies to fight for a better tomorrow ?

Given… some opinions I know around that topic, I think you might have some folks disagreeing on that… :slightly_smiling_face:

That's why I made sure to put it in bold: to assert the dominance of my opinion.

But real talk: I doubt this extra hero would be a direct reference to DW. It'll probably be something we aren't expecting.

In my mind when writing it i was telling myself "Don't do Trigger. You've done it before." Then I messed it up… or made it even better?

EDIT: I hope it's not Chrono-RANGER (phew) because I want him in the core set! There will be a 100% chance (as of November 16) that he will show up

I respect you so much.

What if this extra hero was Medico, come back from the obscurity of a forum topic long gone, here to aid the heroes at last?!

But then the game would be broken. No healers allowed!

Billy the Time Bandit Kid.

Or, y'know, Spud Temper, Agent of F.I.L.T.E.R.

I'd prefer that to a doctor who reference, although if there were a time traveling doctor, Doc Brown is more my speed.

I'd like to see Dr. Gordon Freeman be a hero.

...And now comes the part where we all start making jokes about a "doctor" themed expansion--all famous characters with "doctor" as their title.

Admit it: Malpractice would be a great name for a villain.

I'd prefer a Doc Brown to a The Doctor, too.  Never cared a whit about Dr. Who (sorry).

I'm actually with Spiff on this one. I've watched some good chunks of the old ones and all of the recent series and, barring two or three good episodes, I was pretty underwhelmed. (Why isn't anyone ever just whelmed?) I'm a much bigger fan of Doc Brown.

Well, we're super close to getting this promo hero, so we should have a final answer by later today/tonight. Final thoughts?

Maybe it's "The Master" who is responsible for training Nightmist? (Not a Doctor Who reference, surprisingly!)

La Capitan's Nemisis, maybe a crew member that fell into the portal but was not fortunate enough to be picked up by La Capitan. Instead of mastering the time vortex, the vortex enslaved him. Trapped in the vortex for an eternity, the sight of every possibilty there can, is, was, and ever will be drove him mad, mad enough to loop back around to lucidity, his mind sharpened only by the thought of destroying La Capitan.

And he knows he will destroy her.

Actually, I took a look at La Capitan's nemesis icon again because I couldn't make it out before, and now, it gives me a little trouble. The icon is rather cluttered, having four distinct things on it, each rather different. There's a chain, an explosion of light, green circles, and what looks like the end of a black tornado. Can her nemesis not decide on a theme? What could this represent?

Perhaps there's a hero character card that features four distinct characters, who are played like a normal deck, but still represent four entities fighting at once? Of course, there'd still be one base power and one total HP, but four characters in that one deck.

But I think I'm looking too far into that. Maybe the symbol is just for a hero who is really indecisive.

Or maybe it's representative of the zillions of possibilities and existences within the whole wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey thing that is the Time Cataclysm. That was what I thought when I saw it, anyway.

Based on the conjecture from another thread and your analysis of La Capitan's nemesis icon, I'm becoming more and more convinced that the hero is going to be some sort of shapeshifter.

So, yeah, we were right: this promo hero is one we didn't see coming (at least at first glance).

Also, yeah, that was my other thought I had, and it does seem more likely.
