My big takeaway from this was Guise smearing ice cream all over his mask, because I had him doing something similar in a fanfic. I feel so validated. :D

Scholar to Guise: “You could be the best hero ever, if you weren’t so convinced that you already are.”

For anyone who’s seen the Captain Marvel movie (which came out a few months before this episode did), that film has a turning point where Brie Larson shatters her emotional inhibitor chip, and it turns out that makes her more powerful; women always want to believe their emotionality is a strength instead of a weakness, and that film is wish fulfillment for such girls. Well, male or female, extroverted goofballs like Christopher and Guise always want to believe that their over-the-top clownery is an asset and not a character failing, so you could construct a very spot-on homage to that CM scene, where Scholar gives Guise a McGuffin that reminds him to take things more seriously and be less obnoxious, but in the critical scene, someone takes that thing away, and Guise Unleashed with all the cards in his hand turns out to be the super powerful thing that defeats the bad guy.

I want to do a game in Ruins of Atlantis that’s fluffed as actually happening in this waterproof cafe.

I disagree that Jansa could beat Voss, because Voss could beat OblivAeon, and Jansa took the Enclave to Ur-Space because she felt that nobody could beat OblivAeon.

I would disagree with Dawn being accepting of mages, because she didn’t institute BST as citizens because they could cast a spell that can give people powers, but because a spell was cast upon them and they have powers as a result.

Dawn’s successor would be Citizen Morning.
