So hey RPG players and source book readers, I am curious about something.
When Christopher says "the core RPG rule book has a story about X," what does that mean exactly?
Like, is it a few-page short story with descriptions and dialogue between characters and all that? For the GM to read for flavor and setting?
Or is it more like a set of narrative bullet points for the GM, and then the onus is on the GM to make sure the characters go through the story being told (or roll with it as the characters go off and do something else)?

If you have a particular case of him saying this, mind telling us where it was? Context clues will tell us tell the diferance.

It was in the question about robotics in the science in multiverse episode. They were talking about different types of robots and how advanced they are, and the fallout in society of the Omnitron event, and Christopher said something like, "And there's a story about this in the core rulebook."
So I guess my question is, when there's "a story" in an RPG sourcebook like this, does the book actually define and tell the story? (And in how much detail?) Or does the story come out kind of however it comes out in each RPG group depending on what the players and GM did, prompted by a couple bullet points from the source book?

I’d suggest posting this question as a comment on the most recent KS update as none of us are going to fully know.

I'm not. I tried tabletop RPGs, and they just aren't my thing.
But I'm still interested in the Sentinel Comics stories, hence my question! (I'm also hoping to have a good time with the Freedom Five in Sentinels of Freedom!)
