Well, that was fun. :D So much butt-touching in the Multiverse!

My big takeaway was Assault and Battery, I think. Like, that makes me feel really good to know. Also, the Professor Pollution story at the end, wow.

(Would you call Biomancer the Zos' with the mos'?)

Surprised no one brought up Baron Blade/Sky-Scraper. :V

(And now all I can think of is KNYFE just wrecking Chrono-Ranger and then getting wrecked in turn by Haka, like how, he must have phenomenal control.)

*sigh* Maybe one of my questions will be answered in the legacy radio show episode.

My letter didn’t appear either and I would’ve thought my opening line alone would be good enough.

My Heart Will Go On plays as the S.S. KNYFEScraper slowly sinks beneath the waves

My shattered hopes and dreams aside, this was a fun episode.

But look at all the awesome new stuff we have to play with!

Like Captain Cosmic/Galactra. :D I'm so glad that went the way it did.

This was a lovely episode (pun semi-intended). With the games being so combat centric its nice getting to know more about our heroes personal lives, and there were plenty of sweet/bittersweet moments through it. I even felt sad for Biomancer.

It'd be cool to get another episode like this, but I don't know any episode similar theme that would be as interesting ("Hobbies of the multiverse" perharps?).

This is also one of those episodes where I have to read the notes on reddit so I can remember all the confirmed/unconfirmed ships, specially for the bit on Knyfe's list of... encounters.

I believe the Ra/Fanatic section was the most explicit C&A ever got in the podcast... Not the "touching butts" but that they non-euphemistically referred to sex.

Nightmist and Gladys dialogue was one of my favorite parts, not only because of it was funny as hell (once again I was laughing loudly in public), but that's the perfect reaction to villains-trying-to-be-seductive-out-of-nowhere thing.

> (And now all I can think of is KNYFE just wrecking Chrono-Ranger and then getting wrecked in turn by Haka, like how, he must have phenomenal control.)

I have theories:

-Not only Haka absorbs the strenght and vitality of his alternate dimensions, but also their mojo ;)

-She was wearing the mecha-suit.

...Aaaaaand that's all I'm going to say about the characters sexual lives.

They've already discussed Haka "holding back" at length during his own episode, especially in terms of sports and his dealing with kids.  I believe the analogy was "everyone vs. Haka" in a rugby match, which he would do only for fun, ensuring no one got hurt.

As for Chrono-Ranger/KNYFE, I have this vision of him walking away the morning afterwards, a bit embarassed and totally unable to keep up with KNYFE (and a number of assorted....gadgets...), with her just sitting up in bed, smirking.

I just imagine Con being indignant when he gets back.

"You were supposed to be here last night! gasp Is that lipstick!? You skipped out on learning about your next contract to spend time with some... some... hussy!?"

My headcanon for Greazer is that it happens in his solo book. The issue starts with him waking up next to her, looking over, and thinking, "...I was supposed to bring her in, not go back to hers."

I don't know why, but I see KNYFE as more a lip gloss girl, rather than lipstick.  Not someone into makeup often, but if she's going out, she has that shiny lip thing going, with maybe a little bit of glitter on the eyes...

Point taken.

Speaking of K.N.Y.F.E., there's a quote here I just have to ruin...

"The first thing she did with it was BLEEP-wrestle Bunker! In the suit!"

I regret everything

I think I'm still too busy laughing at the whole "he brushes his hair back and flower petals appear" part regards Argent. I have a new "hilarious mental image" in my personal list.

I am also surprised that every major question I asked was asked by someone else including about Biomancer having love interests. Like the others didn't really surprise me other people thought of them, but that one did.

I love how with one short comment from C&A, this whole thing has devolved into "K.N.Y.F.E. and Friends (with Benefits)".

Actually ambiguous which one of them goes first, there!

So there are two things that bothered me in all this. First, Baron Blade: they alluded to him having a son in an earlier episode! THIS HAPPENS SOMEHOW, but we got no details. Maybe it’s just Hubert Farnsworth style, I guess…

Second, KNYFE-Haka somehow makes me sad for Haka. Like, KNYFE would be a love-'em-and-leave-'em type, and Haka has such a kindhearted yet fundamentally lonely existence, I don’t want to do that to him. Or think that he’d fall for it. So did he get with KNYFE out of some kind of pity? Was it a lapse? Was it something that he put a lot of thought into, and did it turn into a much longer relationship than Paige expected? Augh, this one bothers me! I just can’t see Haka getting thrown by the wayside.

goes back to listen to the Haka episode, when I asked about Haka and KNYFE getting into a bar brawl

Oh, no.  Wasn't ambiguous to me at all--KNYFE is offering the arm, Jim says no, KNYFE is disappointed.  Besides, I don't think Chrono-Ranger can take off his arm...

*    *    *    *    *

Ahhh, yes.  Baron Blade got what he wanted from Glamour...an heir. :D

I thought the reference to the son of Baron Blade was in the future of the Wasteland, and that his son was the one who did the damage to the moon shown in the art. So this would be the son in that alternate timeline, who might be born in our future at some point.

I guess someone needs to ask a question about that…

Final Wasteland did mention offspring. There's also the question of who exactly it was who bailed him out of the Mittermeier's situation when he got lost there.

I may be reading too much into this, as I previously did with the "Who bailed out BB from MMFFCC?", but my theory is, which I think they have pretty firmly "confirmed":

A. BB helps Shrieker become MM. He "got what he wanted out of the agreement" in the love in the multiverse episode, which (to me) indicates hanky-panky, and what would BB want with just plain ol lovin' he could get from any of the many adoring Mordengradian ladies? He would want a powerful offsping.

B. BB later gets trapped in MMFFCC, presumably by one of the later, not-Shrieker MMs, but maybe it is Shrieker, the theory still works. "A mysterious figure" bargains for his release. Who better than his son/daughter, who has both a connection to BB AND MMFFCC?

Whoops, almost forgot this! *Puts on a tinfoil hat*

I actually think it really works. Haka is someone that we've established is both kindhearted and doesn't get really close to people, because he's lived so long and feels it. I think he is someone that would be totally into some no-strings-attached times with KNYFE, which will be awesome when it happens and not include any long-term commitments. In fact, I sort of think that explicitly no-strings-attached is how Haka would prefer his relationships these days; he doesn't want to get too attached, and he's much too kind to start a relationship with someone that they would expect to be long-lasting.

But it certainly would be long-lasting TO THEM, so Haka wouldn’t be sparing them something difficult out of kindness to them. He’d be doing it for himself. I’m not saying he’s so selfless that he doesn’t think about his own well-being at all, just that I don’t see any reason why he’d shy away from relationships. I don’t see him as a one-night stand kind of person.

By the way, I could see that story about Haka showing up at the death of his son reaching opening-sequence-of-Up levels of feels.

Maybe - and I think I’m probably reaching here, but it would be fun - Haka/KNYFE lasted a little while?

Or, because it’s Christopher, Adam, and Haka, it was probably right at the end of the Multiverse and he gets sucked into the Miststorm universe and we’ll never know.

The way I see it playing out:
*Knyfe and Haka know each other through superheroing. They flirt, but nothing serious.
*The Progeny event happens. Paige leaves Earth to hunt it down. (I think it's canon that she has some brief relationships with aliens in this time?)
*Cosmic Contest. Progeny gets ripped up real good. Paige returns to Earth.
*Pre-Oblivaeon stuff gets underway. They have a bit more time to flirt.
*Stuff starts to get Real.
*(They bang).
*There is at least one Serious Conversation about Feelings. Paige isn't totally sure where she stands, Aata respects that but thinks they have something that could last and wants to give it a proper, serious go. There's potential there. This could happen.

And then Oblivaeon happens and, iirc, our Haka ends up in the universe where our Knyfe is dead, and the shippers weep.

I can totally see Haka just enjoying a bit of sex here and there for what it is. He’s an immortal being that clearly has a huge enjoyment of life and accepts the transitory nature of his connections with others.
I’m not sure it’s that unbelievable that Haka and KNYFE could have just had a bit of fun (it certainly seems to be her m.o.).
I can see him totally enjoying any experience with another and being fine with whatever length of time it is.
I’m not sure he’d even see that much difference between “strings” and “no strings” they way we might, both are just temporary to him anyway.

I'll be honest, my favorite moment was Christoher and Adam's first response to "are Hammer & Anvil a thing?"

I could HEAR the horror on their faces.

After the follow-up, I’ve had to rethink how I approach the RPG character I’ve referenced a few times. I could completely see fans doing a ship of this character with Lillian.

Went back and listened to this episode again on my drive home from vacation. And I realized that the Majority of my questions that C&A have answered have wound up with a sad moment for Aata. I guess that's what happens when you live that long. Grandpa used to say Y"ou know your'e old when life starts taking your lifelong friends," and… that never really ends for Haka…

Haven’t listened to the episode yet, but I juuuuust HAD to read the thread, and now here we are.

Haka walks out of the room looking slightly embarrassed. Someone (I’ll say Unity maybe) turns to Knyfe. “Why did you climb the mountain?” “Because it was there.”

Please tell me it wasn’t Night-Mister.

Okay, now into the episode, and my thought on KNYFE: there has to have been at least one incident during her Filter days, even if she never had any control over which universe she went to, she had to have at least once seen some dude who was a famous sexy celebrity from her own universe, but in this reality he never had a career and isn’t all unattainable, so she’s just like “ah heck, when am I gonna get another crack at Schnonny Schnepp slash Schanning Shnatum slash Schmillian Schmurphy slash whoever you like”.

“He’s a Baron and he has a Countess.” Well yeah, he’s European nobility, obviously he’s gonna try to marry up. “You bring me the wealth and titles of the Country of Mittermania; I bring you a super-genius father for your potential children, and an eternally young super-human with a sweet goatee for your bedchamber.”

There has to be at least one moment, during a battle with Ra and Fanatic, after they nearly die fighting a bunch of villains side to side, where they just suddenly, animalistically start pawing at each other for a minute or so, before finally Fanatic tears herself away and maybe curses at him for tempting her with his stupid sexy manflesh, and she flies away, and he grumbles about being left hanging and stalks off to find something he can set fire to.

We need the restless ghost of Vincent Hargraves as a new monster for Dark Watch featuring the Wraith. Because he’s a wraith now, and his name is HarGRAVES. Badumtish.
