Let's speculate about Prime War (Letters Page spoilers)

Basically we've gotten some heavy implication that the Tactics timeline isn't merely awful, but actually actively dying, if we take the whole "Prime War is the end of the Tactics universe" part literally.

And also implications that said actual dying has something to do with the OblivAeon shards, the Mist Storm, the Void leaking into everything thanks to the Nexus being destroyed and not reforming, and whatever the Prime Wardens end up fighting against or doing in said Prime War.

I feel like this merits some speculation on how exactly these things all end up fitting together.

Like part of me wonders deeply if the universe ends up dying not because of what the Prime Wardens are fighting but because of what they themselves do (or not do) while fighting whatever it is.

Also, if the Tactics universe goes down and takes "our" Haka with it, aside from that you know really sucking, what implications does that have for Arataki?

One important thing we don’t really know is how OblivAeon is defeated. The end of a timeline seems likely to involve OblivAeon or OblivAeon fallout somehow. So is OblivAeon dead? Incapacitated? Exiled? Can the shards “re-form,” or do they maintain some of OblivAeon’s will and purpose? If Citizen Dawn activates too much shard power, does she awaken something?

Another angle on this is the Scions. We don’t know what happens to them after OblivAeon’s defeat. Is it possible Progeny is stomping around, grabbing OblivAeon shards and gaining some reality-collapsing powers?

I am also a little taken by the idea that - since the Prime Wardens prominently battled Progeny, oh, about…ten years before the OblivAeon event, and that happens to be the maturation time for a Maerynian, what if Tempest’s offspring had some Progeny in them and then reacts poorly to the shards? What a tale that would be.

We also don't totally understand what the Mist Storm is.  Since it's the Mist Storm Universe, I'm guessing that the Mist Storm is either the direct instrument of its destruction or at least a proximal cause.

I'm hoping an RPG module somehow permits travel across realities again, allowing Haka to be rescued (as well as La Comodora and possibly others).  Haka's story just ending along with the reality he's stranded in is somehow an even more depressing end than what most of the Tactics characters get, and it would make Arataki's story get weird with no explanation she can see.  Unless the bond between the two of them is so strong that even the destruction of an entire universe can't kill him, and he gets stranded outside of space and time?

If you want to draw parallels this tactics feels like what Marvel tries to do with Ultimates.

I was very confused about have two time lines until I started to read a bit of it. It was ok. Gave a breath of fresh air to everyone.

And when Mist Storm Universe gets canceled, the editor will take all the good things and add them to the main time line.

Miles Moralis, the new Spider-Man, is now in the main time line.

Exhibit B
Singularly, Doom world resident, made it the main timeline.

No need to worry about our Haka. The writer will find a way for his to exist. (If it makes money). I mean Old man Hawkeye exist.

We dont, but I think there are some small educated guesses we can make without getting into too much trouble.

For instance, I think that the mist-gate spell that cost Nightmist her life had some unintended lingering effects. There is no earth shattering thoughts there, but it feels like a safe bet to me. If we accept that as being a strong possibility, we can make other far less safe, but far more fun, inferences from there.

Maybe the wind blew the wrong direction right after the Tactics Universe split off and the mists never dispersed properly, causing them to eventually accumulate, multiply, and spread? Maybe there is a yet to be revealed player from another universe causing and directing the mists? Maybe the curse of Nightmist's is looking for a new host? Maybe it's just Guise? 

Felt good to get back into speculation mode for a bit. Skipped my power and draw phases for it, but I think it's worth.

Personally I think the confluence of the Void leakage and the OblivAeon shards has something to do with it.

In the RPG universe, the Nexus eventually properly formed AND the OblivAeon shards seem to be much less numerous.

But in the Tactics universe, something kept the Nexus from reforming and the OblivAeon shards seem to have proliferated more.

I also feel like the fact that Akash'Bhuta absorbed the OblivAeon shards in the Tactics universe and more or less went bonkers might be relevant. Especially with also what Anthony's been doing with his own power and instruments. I mean "don't mix Void magic and anything else" is a pretty strong warning and now we have the two major Void-related entities on the planet doing precisely that.
