As we know, AZ is functionally immortal as long as he's in the suit. But his comrades are not. Legacy, while powerful, does not have immortality. The wraith and bunker are just normal humans. And Tachy... Is already dead in at least one timeline I think. So what will AZ do after the rest of the FF, who he's formed a sort of familial bond with, die.

My guess is he eventually dies from wounds trying to fend off a villain.

Or barring that, he lives until the tech he's dependant on breaks down after there's no one left to fix it. Then he burns up.

It's not like he has to stop forming bonds.

So he's going to do what anyone else on the planet does when their loved ones and close associations die.

He's gonna keep on living with the ones who are still around.

Probably chill out with Haka.

Haka is the only one alive in the Final Wasteland and that’s because he can regenerate over time.   Should AZ or Writhe take fatal blows they aren’t recovering.  So while he might become more friendly with Haka he doesn’t have Haka’s survivabiltity.

The point was more that just because the rest of the Freedom Five might die doesn't mean AZ is going to run out of people to bond with. Hell, I could see a Sentinels 2099 sorta thing, with an older AZ leading a new team filled with people who don't even exist yet.

I never said he couldn’t or wouldn’t form new friendships just moreso he is likely to die eventually doing something heroic.

Wouldn’t whatever happened to him in the Iron Legacy timeline happen to him? His powers encase him in ice in a way to protect him?

welp, time to write fanfiction. Or use this as a basis for a sentinels rpg campaign.

Why not both?

I think that was a specific consequence of the Iron Legacy timeline, not necessarily a thing that's inevitable for AZ.

Yeah, plus that AZ never had a chance to learn the level of control "our" AZ has. I'd like to see him working with newer heroes, possibly in space? He'd do well in space, since he wouldn't necessarily need a suit

I don't know, 3 Kelvin is still a little warm for his tastes.

And that’s only if he’s not in sunlight!

Now I'm thinking about an Old Man Shmogan style comic that has AZ and Writhe working with Haka to establish their own little peice of the Wasteland with dramatic deaths leaving Haka alone as the project nears completion... Dark, but vicerally satisfying.
