Who are the most powerful entities in the Multiverse? Who would make your top 10 list? I'm not as up on the lore as I'd like to be, not having had time to enjoy the podcasts as of yet due to my 1 yr old, but my guesses for the most powerful would be OblivAeon, The Host (maybe not one entity...), Jansa, and Wager Master? Would Progeny, Legacy, and The Scholar be up there as well? Deadline? Someone said the Blood Countess is very powerful as well.
There's a difference between "most powerful" and "major powers," IMO. The "major powers" in a setting are the prime movers and shakers, which would include people like the Chairman and Baron Blade despite them not being inherently powerful themselves.
OblivAeon and Wager Master are clearly at the very top. The limitations of The Host (which are multiple entities) are not well-defined and they don't ever cooperate to affect the physical plane--it's likely that they'd be on the same level as OblivAeon if they were completely unfettered and/or acted collectively.
Jansa's abilities are very poorly defined, and we don't know what she does to set up and enforce the Cosmic Contest. Maybe a lot, maybe a very niche set of abilities that uniquely lend themselves to that scenario.
Progeny is hugely powerful, but it's just a direct manifestation of OblivAeon's energy. It's not even a unique thinking entity. I'm not sure it merits being counted.
The Blood Countess is pretty powerful, but mostly it's because she's nearly impossible to kill. Her offensive abilities don't seem especially great compared to other major players.
Citizen Dawn is definitely a contender. We've been told she's one of the most powerful characters in the Multiverse story and that no one hero could go toe-to-toe with her and do better than escape alive. That's especially true in the Miststorm timeline.
Zhu Long might be up there. He never goes full-out and we haven't heard many stories that involve him directly. Hopefully we'll learn more about him in a future podcast.
Ammit in the Universe timeline also might be, but we'll definitely learn more about that later.
Faultless sounds like it might have been before being corrupted by OblivAeon and perhaps will be again. Plenty more to learn about it as well.
I don't think any of the heroes are currently in the same tier, although that's not true of future/alternate variants of them. Visionary in her original timeline probably would have been. A descendant of Legacy might be someday, but he's more sigificant for his role in the world than for his abilities. Even Iron Legacy, while terrifying, would go down quickly in a one-on-one with many other villains. Guise with the Philosopher's Stone might be. Gloomweaver in Medico's body, with his OblivAeon shard, might be. Maybe La Comodora, but that's less because "she has a lot of power" than "her powers, while limited in scope, are incredibly useful and potent." In a one-on-one fight with a truly major power she'd just run away and try to manipulate things to work better for her indirectly. Deadline also has very specific powers that let him do a lot of damage on a geographic scale, but they're also not good for much else. The Scholar, certainly not.
And above all of them are the mighty Christopher and Adam, clearly. Giving everyone in the Multiverse purpose and form.
The Two-Above-All.
Well, all know Hammer and anvil will never die. So there is that.
I've divided this into 3 sections for organizational purposes.
Zhu Long, Biomancer, and Blood Countess are more behind-the-scenes, but are incredibly powerful and in everything in the universe has something to do with at least one of them.
Oblivaeon, Wager Master, Tim Cosing, and Jansa vi Dero are all cosmic entities, 3 of which can do just about whatever they want, and it sounds like Tim Cosing (assuming they aren't Voss, who is still hella powerful) was on that same tier before Oblivaeon overpowered him (which seems like Voss would have a harder time fighting against the freaking Multiverse destroyer, especially without his entire crew and setup that he had on Invasion Day).
The Argent Adept, with his access to the Void, is probably one of the most dangerous people alive, as is Maria Helena, with her ability to sail time's seas. My final pick would be Visionary. Even though I wanted to pick Omnitron (my honorable mention), I remembered how OP Adam and Christopher said Vis would be without her mind being ocupied by Darkmind and cancer.
My thoughts.
I think Haka needs to be considered, since he is immortal and essentially unkillable. He may not be able to destroy the universe but if the universe was destroyed he would still be floating on the void of nothingness still alive.
Lots of different thoughts and points.
The Chairman an dthe Organization are huge in the comics line, because they control Rook City and Rook City is important. Zhu Long, Gloomweaver, Blood Countess, Biomancer, FILTER, Grand Warlord Voss, Citizen Dawn and Kaagra Warfang fill a similiar niche in different ways.
Voss has an intergalactic empire, in terms of space and the universe, he's a major force when he is active. Kaagra is less politically powerful, but the Coliseum is her absolute domain and I'm sure it involves a lot of betting and I'd imagine it a major force in the cosmos if they broadcast. Zhu Long, Blood Countess. Gloomweaver, FILTER, and Biomancer are all long-term schemers with their hands in innumberable pies. They are the shadowy figures that puppet the world from a distance. Amit joins this group, sort of, in the Sentinels Universe, but she's still reckless in ways that the others aren't.
I actually think Legacy has to be in this category as well. Not only because Baron Blade who is also a major power is acting against Legacy, but because if Legacy put out a call to action I think most of the heroes would respond. And when Legacy went bad, the world was reshaped by it. It's a difuse web, but especially when he becomes Heritage and we get the Freedom Five teaching a new generation of hereos... there is a lot of world-shaking happening because of Legacy and those he gathers around him.
I guess, the more I think about it, a Major Power to me, indicates influence and possibly a domain of power. Then you get budding powers like Highbrow or tertiary powers like Revocorp whose main function is working with major powers or connectiong many smaller powers. Even MAdam Mittimeir is here, because she's a weak power comparitively, but that might only seem to be the case because her domain is very small and well hidden, and we have zero inkling as to her long-term plans.
And then, I have to think about, those who were major, but are no longer, or were major for a very short time.
The Celestial Tribunal, The Ennead, Akash'Bhuta (she changed a lot way back when, but not so much anymore)
And, I'm sure there are things we don't know yet that will reveal new aspects of the field to us.
