Just been thinking about how characters from Sentinels of the Multiverse don't always tend to be 'alive' in the way we understand it. I was thinking of gathering a list, as my own reference/amusement.

Ones I can think of, off the top of my head:

  • Dark Watch era Mr Fixer, a ghost haunting his own corpse
  • Fanatic... I can't put that into a simple sentence.
  • Absolute Zero, who doesn't eat, breathe or sleep

Any others we know of?

Medico and Writhe fall into this to me to a degree moreso Medico being pure energy.  The Operative gets resurrected like Fixer and who knows what her status is.

Omnitron.

Haka. (Does he even need to eat and sleep?)

DW Nightmist, she's almost all mist.

Doctor Medico,  he's all energy.

The Idealist. Is she alive in a legal sense? How on earth did Dr medico adopt her?

Progeny. What even are they?

Biomancer.

"Aliveness" in the Sentinels verse seems to revolve around the twin ideas of sapience (re: stuff like how discussion of what beings could become a Virtuoso seems to revolve around sapience and what counts as being sapient) and some sort of nebulous idea of the "soul" (re: stuff like the weird Void afterlife thing, Fixer's situation, how Idealist wasn't seen as being truly alive until she got that life energy spark, etc.)

Though granted this still raises about as many questions as it answers.

Visionary w is slowly dying and by tactics is essentially a walking corpse before her death. La capitan who should have died when she fell through that time vortex.

Yeah, quite a few "do their bodies count as alive" characters

Dark Watch Fixer

Fanatic

Apostate

Absolute Zero

Writhe

Medico

Omnitron

Gloomweaver in both forms

Spite… yeah drugged monstrosity and undead spite

Akash of many  names

Anubis

The Vampires

Biomancer and his children

Zhu Long

Wager Master

Oblivaeon and the scions and aeon men (Borr, Nixious, Darkmind, Voidsoul, Aeon Master, Sanction, Empyreon, Progeny, Faultless)

Balarian

Spoiler AeonGirl

Mangrove

And then with the "defintely alive but confusing" section I'd put

Nightmist

Scholar

Guise

Haka

Idealist

Idolater

Kaagra and the Bloodsworn

Jansa and  Endlings

And I probably forgot a few obvious places on the list
