New Information?

So, I was browsing through the bios and other such things from the video game. I was hoping to find new information in the Xtreme Prime Wardens bios, and I found a little bit I don't remember but not the type of things I wanted to learn.

So, first off, it seems from the Xtreme bios, which we may have heard before, the Prime Wardens of the Multiverse Timeline make there base in Atlantis. We know that the Ennead end up in Atlantis during Tactics, and I don't think we know who ends up there during the RPG but it is fair to consider it unoccupied at the moment I think.

The Temple of Zhu Long has an interesting line I don't know if we've ever discussed before. " The Ancient Purveyor of Life and Death holds the keys to certain doors which shoudl remain closed." I wonder if this is in some way related to similiar phenomenon like Anubis and Ammit. We know they hold on "Entrace to the Underworld" but also that they are not the sole Underworld. Could Zhu Long be another guardian(?) type figure like Anubis who helps keep the world balanced and free from horrific things which would destroy civilization and all that? He's clearly a dangerous and selfish individual, but that doesn't mean he wants to see the world burn, and it could help explain who he discovered the secrets to reanimanting corpses and binding souls.

A quick glance through other stuff hasn't revealed anything else that we haven't discussed, but it is the "Fall of the Variants" in the video game, so it is entirely possible that we'll get more information in the comng weeks for me to add to this thread.

Or I can post reminder things, like Tempest's sword, found in Atlantis, most likely being a Artifact. I'd forgotten that tidbit.

Ironically I think the XPW's nemesis messages were more informative so far. We find out that our Akash, at least, thinks XPWAA is chaotic and dissonant (and he considers his team his band), and we find out that even in the XTremeverse Cosmic and his bro are still BFFs even after Nigel went mad. Their incaps are interesting, too: That electric guitar is (was?) probably XPWAA's Void instrument, and I wonder why XPWCC is tussling with Judge Mental of all people.

My take on it was that Ruin kills XPWAA and steals his power, and the electric guitar is Ruin's Void instrument (he gains the power to make his own).  You're probably right, though.

I was thinking the incap for XPWAA was indication of a Battle of the Bands.

The odd/sad interaction will be when we get Fused Captain Cosmic since technically Infinitor should have sacrificed himself for him to exist.  

I can't wait to see what the OblivAeon heroes have to say to themselves.  I hope Christopher thinks to give them custom dialog, anyway.

Getting back to bios a little, to go with the height comparisons in another thread, seeing where all of the Americans are from in the US is kind of fun, too.

 AZ is from Texas, for one, so there's a Texan accent coming out of that suit. Blake Washington is from Joisey. Setback and Miss Information are both from Missouri. Chokepoint, Friction, and Citizen Hammer are Californians along with Argent. Sergeant Steel is from NYC. (Which makes it kind of interesting that both Megalopolis and NYC are a thing.)

Hair and eye color is sometimes entertaining, too. Unity is the sole person with grey eyes. Hazel seems to be the second least common "normal" eye color: Argent Adept, Citizen Dawn, Miss Information, and Proletariat.

Or occupations, like how Captain Cosmic was a barrister and Infinitor was a constable.

That's a possibility, but I've known a few Texans that don't realy have a distinguishable accent.

Being Jersey born and bred, I'm happy to report I've hardly ever heard this accent.

I live and grew up in an area which is extremely boring and basically has "Standard American Accent" for a regional accent (which means my voice is pretty boring, hooray), so I find basically all other accents fascinating and fun to listen to (or headcanon characters as having).

Can confirm, the only people who say "Joisey" are people not from Jersey who think they're being clever.

It's getting to be kind of an offputting trend as of late on these forums of trying to have fun with whimsical or joking ideas or comments and getting super-serious killjoy responses in return.

I kind of like the sorts of interpretations that don't assume people are idiots.

Where in TX AZ is from has a strong bearing on potential accent.  If he's in one of the large metro area like Houston, Dallas, Austin (thats where I'm at) he's more likely than not to have a distingusishable accent and just use the regional dialect (don't get me started on defending the use of y'all).  Getting into the smaller cities/towns highly increases the likliehood for the "traditional" Texas twang.

I wish some types of Humor was easier to show though typing. 

I would love to hear people with Accents. I got one too even though I grew up in the USA, except for my first 7 years where in Equador). I don't notice it, Would be hard to hear it though writing. But I am sure in the SotM Muscial the actors would add a tough of that.

In comics unless you have a very strong accent (KYNFE, Ansel, Rouge, Gambit) it is hard to show subtle voice pattern, rythms or how I say my J's as y's and my Y's as j. (I blame Spanish, the Y sound is still for me LL).

Jeysie, it wasn't my intention to reflect negativley on your comment. I appologize if it seemed as such. I just meant that since none of AZ's text has really demonstrated him having an accent, it's possible he just doesn't have one.

I guess it's a matter of, I like stuff like novelty, creepy/odd things, things you don't expect, entertaining thematic dissonance.

It's novelty to imagine AZ having a Texan accent since it's not what you'd at all expect. I used "Joisey" because I was being tongue-in-cheek. (Much how I'd be willing to jokingly call myself a Masshole if it was ever applicable to a topic.) I find it kind of amusing from a literary joke perspective that Captain Cosmic is a heroic lawyer.

Also stuff like how I find it interesting that Steel's bio means Megalopolis exists as a giant Sentinelsverse City of Adventure alongside NYC instead of replacing it, especially since the fact that Mrs. Parsons is a Senator for Connecticut and she lives in Megalopolis and IIRC you have to reside in the state you're a Senator for means Megalopolis might possibly be in Connecticut, which would mean there's apparently a whole lot of urbannness going on in the Northeast. (Whew.)

So running into a wall of "You're wrong and your jokes are annoying" felt kind of like, all right then, I guess I can take a hint. (Sort of that equilibrum where you're socially aware enough to realize you're annoying people but not socially aware enough to know what will and won't annoy people ahead of time.)

This is why I use copious amounts of emoticons! 
If I'm joking, I'll end with " " or something like that. Helps out a lot. 

Text is a frustrating way to communicate. 

Megalopolis is also the largest city in the world which suggests it has at least 24 million people (assuming the population of Shanghai is roughly the same in the Sentinels world). So it’s almost 3 times NYC’s size! Interestingly, it only has 42 monorail stops… no wonder traffic’s such a nightmare!

I just went to check out Tormented Infinitor and XPCC based on this.

I was kind of... relieved? At reading XPWCC's nemesis messages, considering the angles it could have gone in. Cosmic and Infinitor's brotherly BFFs relationship is one of the most heartwarming things in the game, so I was happy to see that even in the XTRemeverse it's still heartwarming.

For what it's worth, I'm sorry if my response came off as harsh. I'm from Jersey and went to an out-of-state school where damn near everybody thought "Joisey" was a great way to break the ice (and every one of them seemed to think they were the first to come up with it), so it's something of a sore point.

I've similar feelings about the three stooges, because my surname happens to match one of their names.

I'm the opposite in humor I admit; I love running gags and will often be the first to joke about the absurdities of where I live (of which there's quite a few).

Hence what I mean by "I can tell I'm being annoying after the fact but not preemptively tell what would be annoying so I can not do it", which means I tend to eventually want to retreat to "don't do anything at all then; that's the only way to be sure".

As far as accents go, I can only really help with Parse. Being from Melbourne, most non-Australian people would hear her accent as something close to RP (the generic BBC sort of accent). Speaking from experience, as my Sydney/rural Southern NSW accent gets mistaken as British a lot online. I have a prety cheap headset I could try to record some of her lines on if people want it. Either way, it's pronounced Mel-bin

The Lowsley brothers are from Huntingdon which gives them the East Anglian dialect/accent .Where they are from in Cambridgeshire isn't as strong as Norfolk but is still  different from RP.The accent is rarely shown in media except perhaps the most extreme Norfolk variant (usually as comedy), finding a film set in Cambridge University in which the students/teachers( the protagonists of film set there) interact with the locals is left as a challenge to the reader. 

Did anyone take into account that Citizen Dawn speaks like this?
