The latest set of lies from Christopher and Adam http://theletterspage.libsyn.com/revocorp-and-friends
Curses! I am too late this week!
I blame Revocorp.
Hey there people posting spoilers, you can use [ color=white ] [ /color ] to hide what you are doing. And I urge you to do so.
Despite the show notes, no one shall be forgiven for puting spoilers up in this thread.
The last two set of questions were great.
At least from the look of it there's no spoilers this time around. :)
Can't wait to listen after work.
They say there are spoilers but I would say anything in the future section are by default spoilers every week
They don't mention spoilers in the shownotes...
At the 1 hour and 19 minute mark they give a spoiler warning despite it not being in the show notes. Considering it sounds like the show notes were written post Gencon I'm guessing that's why they don't mention it there because of exhaustion.
They also apologise for making something clear last episode...
I blame EXTREME! partying at GenCon for this.
EDIT: CURSE YOU FOR DOING THE NINJA TWICE IN ONE DAY POWERHOUND_2000!
Hopefully their reading of your questions makes up for my ninjaing.
There are definitely spoilers, though it's probably not that much of a spoiler when I confirm based on the spoilers that the Tactics timeline remains incredibly terrible once again.
Your ninjaing is a minor blip in the truck loads of happiness produced by Adam doing such a great voice.
I totally want Adam to do the old timey radio announcer voice in some official GTG product. (I know you meant his attempt to upstage Dick van Dyke in the British accent department, but it reminded me he also did the old timey announcer voice at one point.)
I don't know why Handelabra hasn't capitalised on his talent for their trailers.
I always thought it was weird they were doing an episode on a hero who hasn't been released yet, who we essentially know nothing about, but... well, I'm stoked to play him. I kind of see myself in him, minus the "good at sports" and "good looking" and "everyone likes him" things. Mostly just being self-centered, overvaluing one's own contributions, and not knowing how the world works. :B
But yeah. Totally the same as me.
There was a lot of really good stuff in there. I have some white text spoilers at the end, but a few other things.
I think I would be a reader who would understand poor Benchmark. The guy just comes across as clueless to me, and so I don't think he would have annoyed me very much. I mean, his heart is in the right place, he just doesn't "get it".
I'm looking forward to seeing him in action, but I can't help but feel his deck is going to be a "polished version of Bunker" type of thing. It appeals to me under those circumstances, but that's just the sensation I get from hearing about him.
Man, I seriously want these hero decks to show up at my door. Anybody finish their time machine yet and willing to help a guy out?
Holy Crap Vyktor!!
From the tiny leaks that GTG has let through, I think that Benchmark will be a bit more complex than Bunker, having to juggle both hardware and software.
Oh, I completely agree, but sometimes Bunker doesn't feel like "a guy in a suit" to me and I think Benchmark is going to hew closer to that thematic concept. Mostly because of the Hardware/Software design, though I also feel that sabotaging the suit to get effects is going to be a thing
Oh yeah, he's a difficulty 3 for sure. But damn, if he isn't super fun to play!
To draw a crude comparison with no exprience with Benchmark, I'll hazard a guess that: Bunker and Benchmark are similar to War Machine and Iron Man respectivley.
Bunker and War Machine are military tacticians, both in heavy-duty suits with hard armaments.
Benchmark and Iron Man are privelaged pretty-boys that have highly modular armors that specialize in energy blasts and have a slew of tools for multiple situations.
Very generalized comparisons, but that's what I can draw with what information I have.
The other thing worth noting is that the impression I got is that Benchmark's deck will mainly show him after he has to disable most of his suit.
Yeah, I was wondering about that. His base incap shows him targeting Parse and Setback, though, so I would imagine his deck represents how he operated before Oblivaeon.
Some incaps take place before the deck happens. One of Ex-Patriette's incaps shows her losing her eye.
None of her incaps shows that. She lost her eye before she left the Citizens originally. The incap I think you're referencing is her defeat by the Citizens when she went after them herself when they invaded Megaopolis and is right before Scholar picks her up in Don't Dismiss Anything
She is missing the eyepatch in a couple of her incaps, but the eye under it is scarred, not freshly wounded.
I'm getting a little confused about what they consider spoilers. I'm going to come right out and say it, even though it was in the spoiler section of this episode, because it wasn't in the spoiler section of the Unity episode--that she and Benchmark are members of the new team "The Paradigms," under the auspices of Revo-Corp. Are they now just tossing everything not already in the published Tactics products into the spoilers section?
I think anything RPG related and unknown figures in Tactics is what they must be considering spoilerish. However, I've never been one to care much about spoilers but I know others do so I just try to avoid saying anything from those sections in the main threads.
Yeah, I get the feeling that if it's post OblivAeon and not already in Flame of Freedom or Uprising, it's considered a spoiler.
I wouldn't put it behind a few Citizens to reopen old wounds. Both figurative and litteral.
I listen to the podcasts via a phone app, so I didn't see the show notes and art until now. The art is... interesting. It's a collage of the RevoCorp logo, Revenant, Benchmark and... some guy's crotch.
That would be Fright Train's tighty whities.
I think the focus is more on the symbol seen on the machine which isn't fully seen on Rebuilt to Survive
Speaking of the symbol, I sort of expected Christopher to explain its composition like he did the one for the Organization.
