This started as a thread about Cats but then it shifted form into a discussion on The Naturalist!

If you were early enough you can tell what form it actually started in

You can listen to today’s episode here

Curses you beat me creating this topic by one minute.   Don't make me send a vulture your way.

Send as many vultures as you want, I have plenty of dead bodies to dispose of.

Dueling discussion threads! >:O

I thought this one was great. The way Naturalist ties into Akash'Bhuta becoming Akash'Thriya is a superb story. I feel like we're getting more and more of a look into the Oblivaeon heroes as time goes on, which is likely intentional, given the order hero episodes have been going in.

Well Lifeline will be discussed next week so we will get our second OblivAeon hero discussed.

That was quick but concise!

Lots of new information there but nothing I really want to follow up on immediately.

Again, it seems the writers have much harsher tales for the heroes in the Tactics Timelines.  I wonder what shape he will be in if Tactics ever gets far enough to introduce him.

Didn't we see Chimera in one of the Art streams?

I know we did but I'm sure we will get more context and art if he comes up in Tactics.

I'm glad that Adam and Christopher got to one of my questions. Was hoping that they'd do both, but one question per podcast is a good record, and my question got answered anyway.

I'm actually pretty happy with Naturalist's attitude in general. From my memory(which can be shakey at times, admitedly), lots of 'concervationist' themed heroes have a tendency to become really surly at some point during their comic run, like Animal Man. But Adam and Christopher don't really paint that kind of picture with Naturalist, he's mostly a guy who will commune with nature and such in his own book but won't turn a blind eye to a crisis that he could aid in stopping, and he's a believer in second chances. He never really goes full "Screw everyone, the earth is dying and we're all to blame" in the cardgame timeline. I just gotta say how much I love and appreciate the world that Adam and Christopher have made for us to play around in.

I'm curious, what do you guys think Naturalist's 2 new form's powers and effects would be if they were cards in his deck?

I wonder when we'll get the subversion where a character in the Tactics timeline actually has the happier scenario than the one in the RPG.

Pinion was borderline happier in Tactics. Differently happy at least.

But happier than in the RPG?

Third OblivAeon hero. Luminary, Harpy, and next week Lifeline.

You are correct I'd forgotten about Blade.  Thougg Blade does go back to villainy which neither the Harpy nor I believe Lifeline will.

We haven't gotten her episode yet, but we did get some clues as to Akash's two possible futures. In Tactics she gets some OblivAeon shards and becomes Akash'Thryha(sp?), returning to her villainous ways. We didn't get much info about her path in the RPG, but we DID get a name: Akash'Flora. Where did they say she was located in the RPG? It think they said Megalopolis Park or something like that?

Actually, she's Akash'Thriya in OblivAeon and  Akash'Darsha in Tactics.  I wasn't clear from this podcast whether Akash'Flora was her ultimate form in the RPG or just a sort of chrysalis state.

Ah, thanks. I just said today in another thread how my memory was shakey.

I could've sworn he said she's in a crysalis state "in Akash'Flora," like Akash'Flora is an environment that houses her.

Ah, you're right, and even more so: "in the Akash'Flora in downtown Megalopolis."  So it seems to be some sort of creation separate from her.  Can't tell from this whether it's a whole environment (I'm thinking like a whole Central Park-type area created by her blooms) or just the chrysalis itself (I'm imagining a big bud that serves as a local landmark or monument).

I'm reminded of Hellboy 2, when the plant elemental is killed and its corpse turns a New York block into greenery.

Akash'Thriya gets pretty banged up fighting OblivAeon, so maybe the same sort of thing happens in Megalopolis?

No one has mentioned this, but Christopher dropped a knowledge bomb that caught me off gaurd.

Quando? Ahora!

The character pictured that the forums has generally accepted to be some kind of cross between Tachyon and Omnitron is actually Unity

Ok, it's not a major knowledge bomb. I lied. But I figured I'd point this out just incase it slipped past some folks.

I… what? When did that bomb drop? Where was that in the episode?

Yes, that needs 3 questions to answer

Somewhere? They mention the bird is a Naturalist from another universe, who has different animal forms.
