I'm So Fast And So This
Episode is live
Hahaha, waited in the rain for about 15 minutes for a bus to work. They got to my question right as I got on the bus.
Yeah, I’d rate public transit a 12 too.
Didn't even see this when I put one up!
This was pretty much everything I wanted from this podcast. three of my four questions were adressed, one of which directly, so I am fairly happy!
Scince they didn't answer my question of if Tachyon or Baron Blade was smarter, I am just gonna assume that Tachyon is :P
Ironically this is the first episode I have not listened to at double speed!
My question about Biomancer got skipped I wonder why.

That is a correct assumption.
You really don't want to talk about Biomancer it would seem
Powerhound, what was your Biomancer question? As I mentioned in the episode, we got hundreds of questions, and we had to prune it down to not have a two hour plus episode.
HtIt was in the same message you read during the Questions section. Basically what I wrote was that we see Biomancer on Sucker Punch and his homunculus on Lightspeed Barrage so I was wondering if Biomancer was a recurring villain for her.
I was more teasing about not getting an answer because I thought maybe it just had to do with the creepiness of Biomancer you didn't want to get into.
It also might be possible that Biomancer really isn't that important to Tachyon as a whole? This seems to be a common thing with Letters Page questions and what does/doesn't get on air. If there isn't terribly much to say that relates directly to the character at hand, I assume it's best left for another episode or just doens't have much bearing on the current one.
Foote's got it. The big Homunculus showed up a few times in Tachyon stories, but Biomancer has sort of been all over. Clones, Homunculi, but no sign of the mad mage himself. He's got his fingers all over but isn't REALLY a major villain for any one specific hero... other than The Scholar.
And that episode will be the second to last Letters Page installment. Right before Fanatic.
Christopher and Adam like to keep me on my toes.
Fair enough. Two cards in the deck seemed to indicate a possibility it was a bigger villain for her.
He is notable in that he's a magic opponent, and that is NOT her thing.
Unless it's stage magic.
It also stuck out to me as it's the only time we see Biomancer in card art that before the VotM release.
This could be for a few reasons (all are speculative and not to be taken as fact):
Adam had more cool/important scenes he wanted to draw and just never found good spots for Biomancer in the coming expansions after initial release
They were not sure for a long time where and how to impliment the character (Vengence? Mini nemesis card somewhere? Full Villain deck? ect.) and so the character was in creative game limbo for a bit, reflected in an art absence.
Biomancer really isn't a major villain like the others even with a full apperance in VotM. Maybe he only has one major story/apperance outside of his ties with Scholar. Scholar never had his own book or series as far as I know, so his main nemesis probably didn't get a lot of screen time as well. You could pair this with #1 nicely
He might have been a minor villain that would make sense. I just wonder how they will go through them on the Letters Page. No matter what I'm sure there will be some gross details we find out about Biomancer.
I found it a bit disappointing that even with the great "two speeds" title we didn't get insight into her relationship beyond the logistics and scheduling.
Wanted to know things like, when they do get time together, say a night out at a restaraunt, how does she switch to slowing down and focusing on her spouse? Is that a constant struggle for her, does she get distracted mid conversation by something mundane that reminds her of some problem she is working on?
I married a wonderful woman who is brilliant and always thinking about something, and so I relate to that struggle. Since Tachyon has trained herself to deal with the slowness of the rest of the world by working inside her head at her own pace, how hard is it to undo that and give undivided attention to another person for a decent period of time?
Also, I love that Tachyon is into stage magic, I'm a huge stage magic fan myself, so I love that connection. Even have a stage magician character I made a custom deck of. I imagine they would get along.
The big note for me was the Leviathan reveal. Ever since the Maerynean Refuge was revealed, I think more than a few of us have been wondering how it won't end up being a hero-focused environment. I think "cult focused on villainous/immoral weather-controller" might just explain that! :D
I will say, the Maerynian Refuge is nicer to heroes than it is to villains. Leviathan is there, but has not yet managed to build much of a following. But it can still be pretty punishing!
Going out on a limb and saying Leviathan is possibly that scarred(no idea if I spelled that right) Maerynian that we've seen a few times.
Is it possible that they are a cured genebound shock infantry?
I'm sad about Freedom Six Tachyon :(
Her original incap art she looks so anguished. She must know what's about to happen.
>
I genuinely have no idea how many of our listeners read these show notes.
*puts hands up*
At least some of us do!
Seconed. ![]()
Thanks! Good to know! Sometimes I think I'm just writing in a vacuum over there.
First thing I do is read the show notes, let’s me know what to look forward to!
Me too
I guess Tachyon might be annoyed a bit if she learned that Mara does not rely entirely on… traditional stage magic tricks, right…! ![]()
Here too! Will the next interlude only cover what was shwon in the show notes or will it go a little further?
I think Adam needs to draw this.
This made me think of this: https://xkcd.com/669/
Never try to write in a vacuum. ![]()

Eh, who knows? We'll see!
Woohoo, got a bunch of Tachyon questions in! This makes me happy. However, like Powerhound, I noticed that they omitted the last part of one of my questions. I assume the reason was time. I asked Adam to read the lfavor text off "Swift Bot" in his best robot voice. :)
So, now we know how this happened. What a sad moment... I mean, not as sad as the Iron Legacy timeline, but still. Ouch.
Because I get the podcast automatically loaded, I don't check every time, but every couple episodes I get curious and go check out the show notes. Totally worth it.
Oh, and wouldn't Shortcut be a great codename for a teleporter/portal generator?!
Is that the name of the Imprisoned Rogue?
brain explodes
Yes, it totally would!!
Unfortunately… ![]()
I can't say anything. ![]()
i call him Rabit.
Mostly because the art is based on him.
Hes a handsome man.
Can we add to the wiki that the Imprison rouge's name is Rabit and not Shortcut?
Nope. It's neither of those.
I don't remember where, but I once read about a teleporter metahuman in jail called X-it.
Didn't he use to pimp rides on the west coast?
Was he also a 90's character?
In all seriousness, I think he's from one of the M&M sorcebooks.
