Speculation: What comics archetypes are missing?

With SotM hitting the end of the line, there are only a handful of potential opportunities left for Heroes, Villains, and Environments left to explore.  

Given SotM's overall premise, I think it's same to assume that, even despite the creative differences, nearly all characters have their roots in some already existing superhero comics character.  Bunker may not be Iron Man, but the similarities are pretty substantial.  Same thing with Sky-Scraper and Ant-Man/Wasp.  Baron Blade's story arc is certainly different than Doctor Doom's, but there's a pretty sizable resemblance.

With that...what comics archetypes hasn't SotM touched on yet?

For one, we're really missing the "monster-turned-hero" concept, in the vein of Swamp Thing, Ghost Rider, or Etrigan the Demon.  Fanatic brushes past these ideas a little, but she's hardly a 'monster' in any sense of the word.  We do have Man-Grove as a villain (in Vengeance), but having an actual hero in this style could be really cool.

For villains, we're still missing a Joker or Riddler-style character.  Miss Information is close to this idea, isn't quite in the same vein.  Further, a "fear" based character--someone like Scarecrow or the like--could be really cool.  I'm still holding out hope for a classic monster to fight, in the vein of Dracula or Frankenstein's monster, which would fit with a "monster-turned-hero" character.

How about you guys?  Any ideas?  What's left in the superhero-comics genre that hasn't been seen yet?

Spite could, depending on your interpretation, cover the Joker as a psychopathic killer without any real purpose.

We don't really have a Capt. Marvel equivalent yet, the kid turned adult hero.

I'm not sure if we really have a "totem warrior" or a "drawing on primal spirits" person. Closest in AA, but he gives a different vibe. Maybe Naturalist, but it's hard to remeber that until you read his bio.

No one who can become intangible or teleport (excepting Anvil) or stretching powers.

We don't have any villains "directly" created by the heroes. No one who was wounded in a battle or covered in chemicals because of the heroics and twisted by rage and pain.

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Tangent: Since we are talking Theme/equivalent I finally realized a good one for Haka instead of The Hulk. Haka is a heroic Vandal Savage (guy was crazy strong in young justice)

We haven't got a villain who mind controls heroes into fighting for them.

And the closest thing we've got to a kid sidekick is Unity.

Plague Rat sort of does that.

I feel she matches up with Black Widow or Psylocke more though I can see your point.  She does not have health regen going on

Thinking of X-Men we don't have a Cyclops, Beast, or Nightcrawler

Or any monsterous heroes at all (unless you count the two aliens, or Dr. Medico and Writhe - but they're not beastly)

We haven't seen Aquaman either (although have Atlantis, does that count?)

I don't believe we have any heroes that have stretching powers like Plastic Man or Mr Fantastic. 

Edit: thinking about though Writhe may fit that bill a bit.  

Nothing like Resurrection Man.

We don't have a sidekick.

Spiderman?

We also lack any hero/villain romances a la Catwoman.

Also, Devra is the intern, sort of a sidekick.

Tempest is very Aquaman-like.

I think we miss the animal-trainer/controller  type hero ( the reformed Matriarch would fit nicely).

Stretcher/shape changer. Plant control.

The cursed "malformed" hero (the Thing, the Beast) though AZ fits the "cursed with power" stereotype well.

Gravity control powers. Yes, it is my obsession.

The "survivor from lost civilization" background seems missing, though Haka could fit.

Acrobatic heroes like Spidey, or again, the Beast.

And Shadowcat. Where is Shadowcat ? I like my untangible heroins, and the Scholar's energy form, somehow, doesn't fit :)

Nightmist is sometimes intangible.

Also, no copycat shapeshifter villains to let the heros play "guess the imposter" with.

Setback is the hero who has a few Spider-Man references.  Though no hero so far has arachnid type powers.   

Guise can be anything you want. Period.

For the record, Captain Marvel was officially changed to be named Shazam in 2012, because Marvel has their OWN Captain Marvel, and COPYRIGHT STUFF HAPPEN.

Well if you look at fan made expansions, vanish covers night crawler, and the collective is about to release stretch which is more based on serpentina from x-men 2099 then mr. Fantastic. Also you have baccarat who covers gambit.
