Because I love speculation so much, I figured I'd start a thread for everyone to post ideas about the unreleased details of the new >G products. PTing hasn't started yet, but I gotta get my thoughts and ideas down before I am not allowed to anymore. So, lets get started.

VotM:

Sgt. Steel's name got dropped early. This is possibly the FILTER agent. He seems the most likely candidate to me for using a military title.

We have 1 villain mini expansion. And I think that will be The Host (or a character closely related to it)

We have 7 promos coming, but it doesntly say they are all hero promos. I think there will be at least one villain promo. I think we will see Apostate as one of our promos. An Akash or Dawn promo are high on my list.

We will see hero promos as well. Naturalist, Scholar, Chrono, Sentinels, Parse, and Omnitron-X are the most likely to see promos here.

Edit: I forgot about Environments! Ok...I think we might see the Citidel of the Sun as an Environment. It fits with the theme as a villain centered hideaway. The other one? It might be the place that Prime Warden Fanatic is standing in front of which I speculated as the Hosts HQ. But these possibilities are so open. They literally could be anything and we have few hints to go on.

Broken City:

Exemplar is the former Chairman Pike who has been in hiding since the Organization was taken down by the Dark Watch.

Pike is up to his old tricks using geneticly modified goons as his lackies. Pike had a hand in another famous villain who was experimented on with his Chemicals. Spite was subject to many test batches of formulas that altered him. And theres more than a few people who think Spite is on the cover of Broken City. I think they are close. I think Pike has perfected some of his older formulas! Exemplar has 5 new lackies, Demon FistGrudgeMindPhyreKarnal, and Cyst.

Mind Phyre drew the first flag. Thats the exact codename of one of Spite's drugs.

Demon Fist sounds awfully close to "Demon's Kiss", another one of Spites drugs. Demons Kiss shows a picture of Spite's first engulfed in a red flame. To me, that is very similar to the purple flame around the guys hands on the box cover

The other 3 are a bit more of a stretch, but follow me here.

Karnal. Now the word "carnal" means "relating to physical, especially sexual, needs and activities". You could say Spite had a carnal need to kill. It's a little interesting that PL602 compound drug shows a picture of Spite's chest, notably the side where his heart is. Coincidence?

Grudge. PL531 Compound not only increases Spite's damge, but depicts his flexing arm. If a Grudge is a persistant feeling of Ill will, what better way to portray that than with such an intimidating pose? It kinda works.

Cyst. Now, a cyst is a closed sac, having a distinct membrane and division from the rest of nearby tissue. On PL626 Compound XI, I think we clearly see what could be very much considered "cysts", those bulging pockets of red tissue on his monsterous left arm.

Maybe seperatly these are not convincing, but together they form a pretty interesting picture. Pike has perfected and isolated the different chemicals that Spite was injected with and given one to each of his new test subjects.

As for other characters, I think we might see Naturalist and the Sentinels fill out the hero roster as I could see them being good fits around the theme (and I contend the Prime Wardens will be introduced in their own core set)

For Profit:

We have a clear look at our Villains, but the 2 heros to be included have yet to be revealed. I have a strong feeling Chrono-Ranger might fit well here being a bounty hunter. I think the Scholar will round out the 2nd spot. Why? Because For Profit stole a luxuray Yacht, and I think Scholar wants his boat back!

Ok guys, those are my guesses. Lets hear yours!

I think the 7 promos include the Sentinels, which would be worth 4 cards, and would put the number much more in line with other promo cards.

Also it is 7 promo cards, so any villains are either oversized (likely) or they count as 2 cards.

For heroes we need 13 cards.

Chrono

Guise

Naturalist

Omnitron X

Parse

Scholar

Sentinels [4]

Sky-Scraper [3]

Obviously they could make it work with different card totals for Sentinels and Sky-Scraper, but the chaos of the deck would likely ruin the promo.

The Sentinels would actually take up 5, they have a setup card as well.

Do you think a Sentinels promo would actually have a different setup card?

Would they need a new setup card for promos for the Sentinels?  They could just retain the same incap abilities

Every promo hero has thus far had different incap powers, the setup card for The Sentinels has their incap powers on it.

I agree that the Prime Wardens will get their own Core Set (I'm very sad that it appears to be Core Set #3 rather than #2). But I disagree that Naturalist seems like a good fit for this set. The only backstory we have for the Naturalist ties him to the Argent Adept and the Akash'Bhuta, which would imply that he fits better with the Prime Wardens Core Set. While I'm sad that won't get to see him until then, it also makes me unbelievably excited for the Prime Wardens Core Set/Expansion.

I dont disagree with you at all. Thats a great point with Argent and Akash.

I do still think there is a sensible place here for Naturalist though.

The Naturalist now works to protect the environment and the world from those who would destroy or exploit it for their own means. From corporations which bleed the planet dry, to mad scientists who attempt to pull the moon into the earth, The Naturalist has his watchful eye over the world, its resources, and its people, and he has learned a few tricks from his time in the wilderness...
Broken City is now a wasteland and probably full of nasty chemical fallout from Pike Industrial. Naturalist could make a lot sense in this context, protecting both civilian and environmental interests. And even though he has powers, the nature of his shapeshifting lets him fit into a street level theme just as well as a mystical theme.

If he was saved for the Prime Warden expansion it wouldn't surprise me for the reasons you said. But I think he would make sense here as well if thats the direction >G takes.

Now a wasteland? Rook City was always a wasteland, even the store page for Broken City says so.

The ruined wasteland that was Rook City has gotten even worse

I think Steel is a "villain" in that he migh be working with official sanction. We know KNYFE went rogue, AWOL, and probably a few other things. FILTER seems very much psuedo-military and (to our knowledge) they have not react to this, which is unusual. Steel could be their response, sent to bring KYNFE back to stand trial. He could also represent therefore (since he's clearly a bad guy) the more extreme and elitist side of FILTER. Best evidence? Steel is still in his FILTER uniform, badge showing and everything, with some heavy hardware. I think he would not be sporting his badge if he was thrown out of FILTER.

This could also help explain why the government and the heroes don't get along in tactics, the heroes came in conflict with a corrupt and zealous government organization and made some politically powerful enemies.

Next theory? That is not the original Plague Rat, someone went and made a plague rat to cause trouble. Unless plague rat was cured and spent some time as human he does not have the skill or motivation to create that serum set-up, somebody made it. I suppose it could be the orignal rat, turned human and then willingly becoming a monster again, but equally likely someone subjected an innocent to that transformation.

Blue Pompadour is probably a Lobo-esque intergalatic bounty hunter.

My gut says the lady in red is not The Operative. I can see it logically, but my gut says it is someone new... or maybe it is simply some hope.

Anvil will be incredibly annoying to fight against.

I agree with your assessment of SERGEANT STEEL (Duke Nukem voice), but I at least partially disagree about Plague Rat. I doubt he was turned back, or that this is a new one. Why? Too convoluted, mostly. I think he was captured, and the drugs were implanted involuntarily and allow him to be controlled, or at least somewhat sane. The bio implies that he is reluctant to team up, but accepts that he must out of necessity. He must be able to reason, then, and original Plague Rat couldn’t do that. Probably.

As for who drugged him up? I don’t know. RevoCorp?

copied from the villains post:

For the villain mini-expansion, I'm hoping that we get:

The short yellow, beaky person on Rook city Wraith's incap (here).  IF we are following the batman-esque tropes, we are missing a Penguin archetype, so my hope is that the yellow one is a fence who sends out supervillain thieves (such as the "For Profit" crew) to acquire valuable items for him/her.

Such a villain mini-expansion would tie up a loose end (Rook city Wraith's incap) and could introduce some new elements like the For Profit crew (so we can see some of their story before they are put forth as an established, successful team).  We've met the Hippo (losing to Haka), we've seen the Mirror Lady (who seems to have it out for Setback), and we certainly know Heartbreaker encounters Mr. Fixer at some point. It seems plausible that they might star in a mini-expansion, either as Vengeance style villains, or in the deck of a full villain who prefers to remain at arms length.

For the very final villain of the game, I've been wondering if they might do something funky like having the villain (IE, Terminus) be an entire playmat, with different spaces for the heroes depending on if their were 3,4, or 5 of them, and a villain along with- so your team would be fighting a villain inside a massive world-destroying thing to see if the good guys or the bad guys would be able to dictate the fate of the multiverse.  After all- this is a being that (presumably) has the power to alter space, time, and reality itself.  Can you imagine a more tempting prize?  Think of what someone like Citizen Dawn could do with that- she could wipe out all the normals in one go!  Baron Blade would finally have his vengeance!  Infinitor could finally make the voices (ALL the voices) stop forever.

You could have a playmat that altered the rules and had objectives.  Terminus could be a villain in and of itself (that you played on the playmat representing it's world-ending machine), or it could be a place for the villains to try and control, so that they could alter time and space to their benefit...

For the villain promos, I'm hoping:

1. That we learn a bit more about Miss Information.  Her story kind of ends without any real resolution.  She is revealed as a saboteur, and then she's in costume and has managed (at some point) to take out Tachyon. But then?

My hope is that we'll see her working behind the scenes again, using her knowledge of the heroes to hit them where they are the most vulnerable and put the people and things that they love the most at risk.

2. Apostate: I agree that there is a lot more of his story yet to be revealed.  so I hope that we see a promo that sheds some light on his lies.

3. Akash'bhuta: With the world ending threats that are coming, it seems entirely possible that AK will come back.  We see her in Tactics with what looks like Oblivion shards sticking out of her, and her card specifically references her being "Chaos-bound", which has all sorts of interesting implications.

I'm thinking maybe it's an older Tantrum? A young goth/emo girl could certainly transition into a mohawk in her teens. Idk.

A second on the thanks.

Tantrum seems like a good guess.  We know she's a fan of wrecking stuff, and (while this is a tenuous connection at best) she was a figure in Ermine's V5 deck, so theres the potential that she is based in Rook City, and hooked up with her fellow For Profit thieves through Ermine.

I just noticed something from the Broken City announcment page.

The ruined wasteland that was Rook City has gotten even worse, now that Exemplar has begun his chaotic reign. His genetic-abhoration goon-squad of Demon FistGrudgeMindPhyreKarnal, and Cyst patrol the wreckage, seeking to draw life from any they find

In Visionary's Tactics cards, we The Seer being grabbed by a mysterious figure. He looks very young in his Vengeance card, so to look so old in Tactics was strange. I think he is being "drained of life". Also note the purple energy in the picture. Similar to the purple energy of the shadowy figure on Broken City's box.

When Tactics first came out I had speculated that this was Spite. I thought it somewhat obvious, with that glove and the shape of the glowing eyes. But, if my speculation about Pike's new goon-squad being perfected experiments from Spite's original drug injections are correct, what we see siphoning life from Seer is one of these new characters.

Which brings me to a far more interesting point. I was one of the first ones who speculated that Matriarch would become a hero during Vengeance playtesting (which turned out to be true!). The crux of that argument hinged on one fact however. Adam has done no artwork in game of a Villain fighting another Villain. So when we saw Progeny with Matriarch in his grasps, I immediatly thought she would be switching sides soon.

If that general principle still holds true in Tactics (and you could make a convincing argument that Dawn's Searing Lance indeed breaks that rule, though I think the disiplinary actions of her own staff don't really count), then maybe we will see The Seer as a character in Broken City fighting with our heros.

I think we can rule out Crackjaw Crew though. I had thought that at first as well.

Look at Crackjaw Crew in Fright Train's deck. There are four of them. The girl with the fire fist and the brown hair would be the closest to being Becky right? Well, the flavor text quotes "Ember". That, and Ember also seems to have an earing which Becky does not. I don't think they are the same.

I’m all for not jumping to conclusions. That being said Ember could easily be her “super” name. Most cards don’t attribute quotes to Ivan, Tyler, or Rainek, after all.

Ha! I was speculating the Matriarch becoming a hero during Shattered Timelines. Based on the fact she appears so little outside of her deck and she's just wanted to be noticed.

The Sentinels promo could be a Voltron-like combination of The Sentinels with 4 different powers.

"Until the end of your next turn, your character card is also named Dr Medico. Discard a card. If playing the card would heal, deal that much energy damage to that many targets."

" Until the end of your next turn, your character card is also named Mainstay. Reduce damage dealt to 1 target by 1 until the start of your next turn."

" Until the end of your next turn, your character card is also named The Idealist. One player may draw a card."

" Until the end of your next turn, your character card is also named Writhe. You may play a card."

It might still need the setup card to fit the powers. The first one is to ensure that the resurrection cards can be used for something. It might take away the appeal of The Sentinels, they won't be a hero team anymore.

My bet for villian mini-expansion: The blue lady on "Harsh Offense" in Cpt Cosmic's deck. Cosmic and Infinitor are just too much Green Lantern inspired to just ignore the rest of the spectrum, right? Plus, I'm sure Hugh and Nigel weren't the only stargazers in town... :)

The villain mini expansion could possibly be Biomancer. Sure he is going to be in VotM anyway, but there’s characters in there who appear in or have their own full decks so that isn’t a reason to exclude him. Plus it is already implied he prefers to work alone, as does Plague Rat who already has his own deck, which would suggest a solo deck would be appropriate.

I'm hoping this is the case. Scholar is one of my favorites, & I want to be able to throw down against his nemesis without distractions. Also, he deal and takes enough damage that the nemesis bonus will be a major force.

Although I think it would be weird to see the same villain twice in the same expansion cycle, I would also like to see a solo Biomancer. But then, I'd love to see a solo Fright Train and Proletariat, too, and those are never going to happen, so whatever. I'm sure I'll like whoever it is.

I figure I might as well add my two cents.

The Masked lady on the box of For Profit is in the slaughterhouse six and Tachyon punches her in the face at some point.

Based on the similarities between the costumes of the masked woman on the For Profit box, the woman in this picture https://twitter.com/GtGAdam/status/560457453608132608, and the mirror lady Tachyon punches in the face on nimble strike, as well as the fact that zooming in on her in the slaughterhouse six picture reveals her own reflection several times, I think it's a safe bet that all of these pictures depict the same person and that she (Aislin is her real name according to Adam) does something cool with mirrors (maybe with that sphere thing she's holding?). I think she'll probably be a mini-nemesis in Ambuscade's deck in VotM and a playable hero/villain for hire in For Profit.

The Hippo is a cyborg now? Maybe?

Hippo's suit on For Profit looks a lot more mechanical and his eyes seem to be much more glowy and red than they were before. Red glowy eyes generally mean one of three things in comics: 1.) The thing with red glowy eyes is an evil but fantastical or magical creature like a demon or vampire, 2.) The thing with red glowy eyes is an evil (or at least morally ambiguous) robotic thingy, or 3.) The red glowy eyes have no signifigance beyond showing extreme rage, anger, or paranoia. It seems possible the Hippo may be a robotic thingy, but his face looks rather human. So what's up with his eyes?

Aminia got burned?

So, that terracotta mask on Amina's face seems to be covering some pretty extensive scarring. If you look closely at this picture (https://twitter.com/GtGAdam/status/557931320014544896) there seems to be small scarring on her neck and next to her eye. What caused the scarring though? Being burned by Ra? A flow of corrosive chemicals hitting her in the face after a well placed arrow pierced a chemical vat? Something else? Also I can't help but notice Aminia lifting an entire bus and most of a sidewalk with her mind. That's new.

The Revenge of the Mini-Nemises?

If I'm right about Aislin, then every confirmed character that we know in For Profit has been or will be a mini-nemesis except the girl lying on the pile of money on the front of the box (I believe Christopher confirmed Heartbreaker would be one somewhere). Is For Profit their revenge for having moderately low threat value in SotM? Does this mean Becky (https://twitter.com/GtGAdam/status/557563818130563072) is going to be a mini-nemesis in VotM? Thoughts?

Environments?

I'm decently sure that Revocorp has something to do with all of these villains that have come together for seemingly no reason. Maybe we'll finally see a Revocorp based environment?

Well, this is everything I could think up for right now. What do you guys think?

Don't know if any of this is new news, but the latest update on the Tactics kickstarter has the following, most of which was new to me at least...

> Sentinel Tactics: Battle for Broken City is the second core game for Sentinel Tactics. The ruined wasteland that was Rook City has gotten even worse, now that Exemplar has begun his chaotic reign. His genetic-abhoration goon-squad of Demon Fist, Grudge, MindPhyre, Karnal, and Cyst patrol the wreckage, seeking to draw life from any they find. Fortunately, the hero team Dark Watch protects the remaining refugees who are stuck in Broken City. Unfortunately, they seem to be thoroughly outmatched.

Sentinel Tactics: Battle for Broken City includes twelve characters, three scenario books, and two map locations. More information on those characters, scenarios, and maps will be revealed over the course of this preorder campaign!

Preorder Bonus: Every copy of Sentinel Tactics: Battle for Broken City ordered during this preorder campaign comes with three art prints and a pack of eighteen promo cards: one additional Power Card for each character from the Battle for Broken City core game AND the For Profit expansion!

Sentinel Tactics: For Profit is the second expansion for Sentinel Tactics. Life has been good for the ragtag team known as "For Profit". They have been working some good jobs - gigs that pay well for minimal effort. Robbed a few banks, museums, and even stole a luxury yacht! However, now they've been contacted by a new client who wants significantly more dangerous work from them... but is offering a LOT more money! And money talks, especially when you're dealing with For Profit.

Sentinel Tactics: For Profit includes six characters and a scenario book with multiple scenarios. More information on those characters and scenarios will be revealed over the course of this preorder campaign!  This product is an expansion, and requires a core Sentinel Tactics game to play.

Preorder Bonus: Every copy of Sentinel Tactics: For Profit ordered during this preorder campaign comes with two bonus alternate Character Panels! Stay tuned for more information on those bonus Character Panels!

What I like about Tactics is that the less prominent characters from SotM have a chance to get some additional depth by becoming playable characters. While I like the playable characters from SotM, I am all for more new full-fledged characters to add more depth to the Multiverse. For profit is therefor very exciting!
