The art print for Halls of the Terminarch showed us some little details that were impossible to see on the card.

The nunchucks and, more importantly, the eye patch.

Mr. Fixer used to go by the name "Black Fist". A clear shout out to the blaxsploitation characters of the 1970's. The man with Legacy on HotT has an afro and bell bottoms. Staples of 1970s fashion. Nunchucks point to him being a martial artist and the eye patch says he has impaired vision. Mr Fixer is also a vision impaired martial artist. I think the connection here is solid. That is Black Fist standing with Legacy.

But the question I now have is - was Fixer always as blind as we see him in Rook City? If not, what caused him to wear that eye patch? How did he loose his eye? Will I have to wait until >G does the Letters Page podcasts to find out?

Are you sure that's an eye patch? It looks like Sunglasses to me.

I think that they are badass 70's sunglasses, rather than an eyepatch.  So no one can see that he is blind.

And because they are groovy.

I guess they could be sunglasses now you mention it. But it's hard to make out the other side of his face to know for sure. I still see an eye patch, but glasses are possible.

How about seeing it super big thanks to the pic CHristopher has posted?

I just grabbed my print. Those are definitely sunglasses, and I'm inclined to believe that's Black Fist.

Hasn't Christopher stated that Fixer has always been blind?

Mr. Fixer is like Ray Charles with Kung Fu and attitude.

Yeah, but it's Christopher. Technically 'Slim' as he calls himself could have always been blind while he goes by the name Mr. Fixer, but while calling himself Black Fist he could have been able to see. Personally, I prefer to think Slim was always blind though.

Interesting that the Enclave stuff seems to happen REALLY early in the storyline... Legacy looks really young, plus Black Fist is there, and the art is generally reminiscent of golden-age (I think? I always get them mixed up. The really old ones) comics.

I think Jansa and the Enclave make sporatic apperances. They obviously first meet Jansa early, but they go back to the Enclave during the Deadline arc as well, probably looking for answers from Jansa about Deadline and the Pandemonium Key (whatever that turns out to be)

The art is an homage to Jack Kirby, who was the pioneer of the Silver Age, though this seems specifically to be an homage to the New Gods stuff he did for DC in the 70's.

Part of why this is my favourite art in the game so far. Kirby's New Gods is my jam.

Why not?  It's not like Mr. Fixer is above using weapons.

Black Fist was still primarily a Martial Artist, Mister Fixer abandoned that life for his shop, then went back to fighting.

The big question is, given Fixer's age now, how old is Legacy in that picture?

He is not a mechanic yet, so he should have something like "Power : Strike. Destroy one of your equipment cards. If at least one card was destroyed this way, Mr Fixer deals two targets 2 melee damage, else he does one target 2 melee damage".

This way, the tools have no effects except as "fuel" (most of the time). Let's give him a few HP to compensate the loss of his damage reduction tool.

That is kind of similar to th Darkwatch Mr Fixer why not something along the lines of "Power: 'Union Strike' Mr Fixer deals 1 target 1 melee damage, return 1 hero card back to the heros hand. Mr Fixer deals a second target 1 melee damage."

I have suggested the following for Union Strike when it was first mentioned. (If this isn't exactly what I said the first time, it's what I decided it should be after a little more reflection.)

Power: Black Fist Mr. Fixer does one target 1 melee damage. Until the start of your turn, increase the first damage dealt to that target each turn by 1.

This was my Union Strike Fixer suggestion a while back.

Been trying to think of a way to encourage shifting between styles while also taking emphasis away from tools. A little unwieldy, but it's a start:

Funky Strike (29hp): [You may?] destroy a tool card. If you do, deal 1 target 3[2?] melee damage. Otherwise, deal 1 target 0 melee damage. You may play a style card now.

The thematic fun of jumping in and out of Mantis makes up for any loss of tool/harmony functionality if you ask me.  :stuck_out_tongue:
