After the recent Q&A with Christopher, we've been divulged some hints about the Matriarch. We know that if she ever got her own Hero deck, she will discard her former mantle of The Matriarch.
I wanted to dicuss possible names for our favorite Bird Lady. My thoughts were:

as mentioned, Paul Watson has suggested Nevermore.
I suspect that the choice of the names Huginn & Muninn for the Cohorts will play into it. For now, I will suggest simply Raven.
I like Nevermore. The problem with Raven is, as a ruler of all birds, she has dominion over different types, not just ravens. I did consider it, though.
Whatever her name is, I'm betting dollars to doughnuts that it will be an Edgar Allen Poe reference in some fashion. Watson's Nevermore is pretty much exactly the kind of thing I'm thinking of.
The other problem with Raven is that it is already a DC hero.
I'm going for the passive-agressive raven: Nevermind.
Or the Led Zeppelin themed "Evermore".

I'm going to make a Bold Prediction (tm) right now:
The final Sentinels expansion will be, as many have predicted, a "final climactic battle" against the cosmic forces that have been underlying the whole series.
However, I'm calling it now: the subtitle for the expansion will be something along the lines of "Redemption" or even "Absolution"...and all of the included heroes will actually be "reformed" villains from earlier in the series. Most notably, I'd guess it's Baron Blade, The Matriarch, Proletariat, and perhaps someone like the recently revealed Infinitor.
Time will tell!
In the Q&A, Christopher mentioned that the final expansion would alter the rules of the game like Vengeance did. He also confirmed that the cosmic entity that revived Omnitron would be a villain in a future expansion. I'm very curious to see how these things play out.
Does anyone in the community know a vague timeline till the final expansion or how many expansions between WCos and the finale?

I think there are only one or two expansions (not including mini) until the the final expansion is released. This is going by them saying there are only a couple more years before the end.

I hope that they are not getting burned out on the expansions. I look at this game and think that it could keep going for years. Of course they may want to explore different game lines, but this core game seems like it is the work engine of the company.
SotM has always been planend with an end. I see no reason why that would have changed. Once the game has told the story Christopher wants it to tell, it'll end.
With everything we know and hints gleened from >G sources, it is looking like 2 more expansions until SotM is done. What is really interesting is that, without Bunker AbZero and Unity getting stand alone nemmys, neither of these two expansion will be standard format expansions. Awesome!
There is a ton of ground to cover as well. We have body copying cyborgs, ninjas, the army of orange/yellow dudes, the Host, Terminus, Expats dad, and just a metric butt ton of loose ends and unanswered questions with most of the heros storys.

Just a guess. Lillian loves dark poetry and belongs to a group called the "undead poets society". I dont have my cards in front of me, but I also do recall that a lot of the comic issues quoted in her deck are also Poe references. If Lillian is the one choosing her own name, I'd lean more towards her choosing a poetry related name before she picks something Norse or Hitchcockian.

I'm going to make an actual bold prediction: We're barking up the wrong tree, and Christopher is being misleading. We'll see the Matriarch again, but not as a hero but as part of some villainous plot.
I mean, I'm probably wrong, but it'd be cool if I were right...
I am going to assume that when she turns good, she will begin to command a pride of ostriches.
If we get 2 heroes in the next and 4 villains, they'll be 2 villains up.
As has been mentioned before we know that the three don't get their own, one or two could.
Even if none of the three do the numbers can always work back out. Let's say we get 5 heroes in the last expansion like with Vengeance, at that point you need 3 nemesis villians, with mini-expansions and the final expansion left to cover the gap.
There are many ways to make the numbers work with a normal expansion and something huge and different at the end.
Forget ostriches. Do you know what are really scary? Cassowaries. They're basically emus with warpaint.
I think the Matriarch is going to be an environment. It will actually be a set of extra cards that can be added to any other environment to represent that a flock of violent birds are also in the area.

If you want to find out how terrifying cassowaries can be, play some far cry 3. they will f*** you up.
I think it's very unlikely we will see another expansion in the same format as the Vengeance expansion. Any addition to the Vengeance format will likely be mini expansion material (which makes sense as they will be more plug-play decks in that format). Plus, there is nothing in WotC that suggests new hero characters like every past expansion has, let alone 5 new ones. WotC is very light on the foreshadowing in general which makes guessing at what these expansions will be tough.
I was thinking the 5 heroes would be more in line with a mega expansion like the last one should be. A new mechanic will be introduced, so I am expecting a normal expansion next, and then a mega-Expansion to end the game, which could very well involve more than two heroes and the new mechanics.
I think the 5 heros was more of a function of the Vengeance theme (5 new heros to help take down the new 5 villain team) than being a function of a "mega expansion". I don't see that happening again. I think the final expansions format will largely reflect the theme and mechanics. This is where I am expecting a few of the villain-turned-hero decks to pop up.
Without the guideing premise of "every hero will have a stand alone villain", the whole guessing expansion format thing is up in the air and honestly any guess is as good as any other. WotC didn't give us a lot of help either with the speculation department.
I doubt we will see any hero without decent Nemesis representation. Bunker AZ and Unity all have Iron Legacy and Bunker and AZ also have Vengeance characters. I think any future heroes will get either a stand alone nemesis or at least good representation, and I expect Unity has more nemesis representation coming in some form.
We were told that WCos would be a turning point from raising questions to providing answers, we might have to wait until everyone gets a good look before we start putting it all together.

Probably from Christopher during early Playtesting. There's a long time before art is shown and he likes to be cryptic with playtesters as well.
The latter two points I knew. And I was wondering at least as much because you & Foote have both recently commented something to the effect of "not much fuel for speculation in WCos."
Its pretty sparse compared to all the awesome stuff found in Vengeance. There are some talking points we will get too for sure. Just not as much as like Vengeance which sparked tons of speculation ideas. We havnt seen the incap sides for all the promos so maybe there is something juicey in there!
Well, no-one yet seems to have commented on the fact that Infinitor happens to look more or less exactly like the Time-Crazed Prisoner, so there's that (whatever can be made of it...he gets caught and imprisoned in the Block at some point and gets to write stuff all over the walls, I suppose) ;).

Lol I thought it was massively obvious from the really prominent image shown in the update post that was made somewhere on the site a little while ago (the one explaining Infinitor's backstory, interspersed with images) and was thinking no-one had mentioned it because it was so obvious ;). I think I'd already seen the image before (when playing with one of the playtesters so was able to look through the deck) and figured some non-playtester would comment when it was posted publically. Oh well, let the rampant spectulation and theory-hurling commence, I suppose ;).
First guess is that Cosmic defeats Infinitor and realises its his brother so he can't bring himself to kill him or something (or maybe he wouldn't anyway, seeing how he's a good guy and all ;)) so just has him locked up. Or maybe he just gets caught by FILTER in an entirely separate incident from any kind of confrontation with Cosmic. Maybe the voices in his head hold the key to saving the Multiverse (all those whispers, they probably told him about "the child is the centre" and all that) but he might not even realise that, or maybe he doesn't care. But maybe someone will look at all his scribblings and work something out…and like with most stories that involve prophecies and stuff, it won't make sense until after the thing has happened :D.

It would be cool if in the Shattered Timelines expansion we were given the future of a character before he was actually introduced into the game.

Wow, that is awesome and I can't believe none of us saw that. There is even a pretty strong visual hint on his flip side. Having nothing to do with this revelation, Infinitor is my favorite villain from this expansion. He doesn't introduce brand new mechanics like Kaargra, but game with him are always fun and action packed
