This is breaking off into a tangent here, and probably deserves its own forum, but I wonder what new identity Lillian would choose after her change of heart.

Talon?

Judging by some of the comic titles she is found in and her ties to something called the "dead poets society", I'd imagine whatever new name she chooses will be some kind of Edgar Allen reference. Just a guess.

What’s worse is that he isn’t going to stop thinking without a period.

MatchstickMAN, no periods here.

ahem

I would like to see a no birds Lillian, perhaps having reconciled with her scientific genius cousin and oufitted with the latest science based inventions from Meredith's lab.

But then what sets her apart from Tachyon? Would she just be a gadget user like her cousin, only slower?

And I just realized this thread was torn from the other one, after I made one myself. That confused me for a second.

[off-topic] Men can totally have periods.

Bird-less Matriarch? Nooooo! I want birds. Birds are awesome!

She could try out different birds though. I recommend kiwis, superb lyre birds, puffins, moas, nightjars, emperor penguins, and bee hummingbirds.

Call me slow to the game, but I read, and re-read the Q&A Session.

What i learned was that

1) A villain will become ahero

2) There is no hero named "The Matriarch"

3) Legacy being evil made Fright Train a hero.

I have not found anything saying that Lillian Merle Corvus is becoming a hero. It seems that Christopher, that magnificent bastard that he is, has not confirmed 100% that she is becoming a hero. it justs eems that he's playing with all of our specualtion and guessing. Unless I missed something, can somone help a friend out?

Utterly confused, and lost

It's fun knowing things other people don't. I heartily recommend it.

All you have to do is write a game that Cristopher wants to publish in his universe, and all (some) of the seekrits are yours!

Last time I tried pestering someone for 3 years, I recieved a retraining order. Now I am counting the days until I can see Emma Stone again.

This was back in the days when he failed his 1st Grade Acolyte Certificate of Excellence, his inability to fully unlock the dire powers of the dimensions beyond our own resulted in class detention, five lashes with a Birch stick, and three years of additional Incantation Class after school. That was where he evidently met Emma Stone and eventually received the retraining order from her, which gave him the extra attention that he needed to pass the crucial end of term exam with flying colours. So enamoured was our cursed friend with his new qualification that he is clearly champing at the bit to once again see the person who made it all possible for him in the hopes of achieving further academic excellence under her tutelage.

There is a bunch of interlocking clues and hints that point to this happening, but it hasnt been confirmed anywhere. I think I've outlined most of them in various threads long since dead. But the single biggest piece of evidence for this is found in Parse's deck. The art shows Progeny grabbing Matriarch in a not-so-playful way, and Capt Cosmic rushing to, presumably, save her.

The thing is, there is no art ever released in the history of SotM that shows villain vs villain action. Could it? Sure. But it's been a long time and never happened, so theres a reason adam choose to draw the scene the way he did (besides the fact that its a shout-out to a Fantastic 4 comic cover). That could have been anybody Cap was trying to save. Why Matty?

The way I see it, Matriarch gets saved from the clutches of an evil that spells out the end of the world which becomes the tipping point for her transformation to hero status. That and I stand by my original Matriarch speculation that ties her to the big-bad from my footesnotes post on her.

Could of really been anybody?

Note in that same picture, her and Progeny of the same colored glow in their eyes. In the recent update on Sentinel Conflict, there is a picture of The Matriarch, with the glowing eyes.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gtgames/story-war-sentinel-conflict-and-cosmic-contest-com/posts

Progeny can also be seen with the same glowing eyes in other pictures. Couldn't this mean they have some kind of connection? So the reason as to why it was The Matriarch is most likely, the mask. After all it does hold more power than we have yet to learn.

Yup. This is consistent with my old theory of Matty being tied to the big bad.
