I know there's already a topic on alternate universe characters, but in light of the Story War topic just spinning out of control I'd like to see what the users on this forum can think of as far as whole themes for alternate universes. Just for the fun of reading other's creative idea's we could makes posts describing alternate universes and short stories on how those universes have interesting twists on sentinels comics.

This is strictly for fun and pretty much nothing here needs be canon, after all as long as the multiverse is big enough if you can think of it chances are a universe in it exibits it. I'll take a while to spin the story of Comrade Zero and his nemesis the one man squad Freedom. Until then if you guys want let your imagination run rampant and show us how creative you can be in a no holds barred environnment.

One of my favorite things about Sentinels is it is like someone sat down and took a bunch of characters they liked and said "What would this character be like if we made them more cool and gave them a better backstory."

In my alternate sentinels universe Mr. Fixer dies protecting his students against the thugs, and his star pupil Sophia becomes a vigilante bent on avenging her mentor, after nearly dying in an attempted murder of Pike she is taken in by The Wraith, who helps her focus her anger more productively.  (not a sidekick though)

Meredith Stinson wasn't caught in the accident at the labs, and instead several of her colleagues died.  Disgraced she ends up working for whoever will let her do her experiments, and comes under the employ of Baron Blade.

Baron Blade after losing to the Freedom 4 (with Sophia replacing Tachyon) gets a message from a desperate businessman who is very interested in helping him, and Baron Blade is invited to join a group of criminals known as the Organization, Pike, without his right hand is weak and it doesn't take the Baron long to take over the Organization and Pike Industrial and use its might and connections to prepare for his vengeance on Legacy.

When the Pike Cryogenics lab catastrophe occured, the head of the research division convinced Baron Blade that she could keep him alive and harness his powers.  Deep Freeze is born, and his goal is to strike back at the heroes that protected and perpetuated the system that allowed his fiance to die and her killer to live.

With Meredith Stinson and Baron Blade working together the Baron is much more successful in his schemes, although they take on a much less destructive tone, and are more geared toward control and aquisition.

The Voss invasion gives Baron Blade the perfect opportunity to gain major political power in the States, through his puppet Pike.  Pike ends up President, and Legacy and his friends end up fleeing.  The process that makes Omni-blade is much more successful, with the help of Dr. Stinson and a promising young associate that becomes Blade's protege, Ms. Caspit.  Baron Blade builds his first sentient Defense platform/factory, run by a symbiotic hive mind AI that is convinced god is a girl named Devra.

Heroes around the world, desperate and defeated at every turn by the mechanical Armies and super powered special forces of Baron Blade flee to the one place that is safe for them.  Insula Primalis, and the Protectorate of the Citizens of the Sun.

I want Tachyon playing the part of Ada Lovelace and Bunker belching steam. I want Megalopolis covered in haze and Rook City crawling with shady folks in horse drawn carriages.

I can see Bunker having a team of Shire horses and a large cart to carry his coal around.

The heroes get to the Mars base inside what is essentially a bullet fired out of a huge gun.

And a steam-powered Mr Chomps would be the most adorable thing ever!

Silly! You'd just fire more bullets up to Mars containing the parts to build another gun.

My dream alternate universe is where everyone worships GloomWeaver. Also Siege-Breaker serves as Cursed Acolyte's boot shiner.

Wait, how do we know the Cursed Acolyte is wearing boots, or shoes, or socks, or even has feet!

In the Steampunk version, Maia is the only child of Viscount Montgomery, and has to deal with the perils of being a blue stocking on the London social scene by day while acting as a bounty Hunter at night. She's especially interested in the monster stalking ladies of the evening in the East End.

i nearly used Plague Rat to tie into the Spring-Heeled Jack penny dreadfuls  and then remembered who her nemesis is and decided to leave well enough alone.

He says he has to wear them? He might just own a pair so that way Siege-Breaker will have some value.

Loving the Steampunk SotM ideas!

My vision is more of a SotM Fantasy universe that mashes-up elements of Fables, Camelot, Robin Hood, Shakespeare and more:

Legacy as Arthur assembling the round table with The Scholar as Merlin

Bunker & AZ as knights

Tachyon as The Tempest's Ariel

Haka as the Blacksmith, Argent Adept as the Bard (natch) and Setback as the Jester

Fanatic as a Nun, Visionary as a hedge-witch, and Ra as a druid priest

Nightmist as Morgan le Fey

Better, make Haka Weyland (Weland/Wayland) Smith.

I love the name Ariel thanks to the Tempest, but the Little Mermaid has forever spoiled it for young girls. (Change the  pronunciation and it's still OK for Jewish boys.)

Not really my dream alternate universe, but one of my friends brings it up anytime he can so I thought I'd share. In the universe where Legacy dies at the hands of another villain baron blade becaumes distraught. His lifes goal was taken away from him, and in the next few years he decides to take revenge on the villain who took vengence away from him. In that fight he realizes that fighting supervillains is more rewarding and intillectually taxing than heros. This new passion drives him and we see the birth of Baron Blade the Hero.

Wayland Smith was my first choice, but I didn't want to go too far down into a Fables comic spiral.

I know what you mean about Ariel.  I used to have a cat named Nemo and everyone thought it was from the Pixar film as opposed to Little Nemo in Slumberland (his actual namesake).

I have a rabbit called Neo and I have to tell everyone it's nothing to do with The Matrix. It was because when I first got him we couldn't think of a name so he was "the new bunny" for a while. Neo=new.

See, I don't think Fables. My first introduction to Wayland Smith was Susan Cooper's Dark is rising books.

Sentinels Movie-verse:

Buddy-cop/romantic comedy starring Expatriette and Setback

Modern war movie starring Bunker and FrightTrain (prequel)

Mystery/suspense thriller starring NightMist, Wraith, and Parse

Monster movie starring Chrono-Ranger, Haka, and Naturalist

Fish-out-of-water movie starring Tempest and Omnitron-X

The list goes on.

Also, Tachyon gets her own movie.

The Dark Watch needs a TV Series.  Lot's of drama and a great storyarc that could take a good while to resolve.

Dark Watch TV series drinking game:

Whenever Mr. Fixer dies, take a drink.

Whenever Setback breaks something, take a drink.

Whenever Nightmist hurts her allies, take a drink.

Whenever Expatriette pulls out a gun, take a drink.

If I hadn't had jury duty for Christopher's Q and A I would have asked how many times Mr. Fixer died before Sentinels Tactics. :D

Why would Haka be in a monster movie?

My alternate universe is Setback vs. The Multiverse. I made some fanart of it on the fanart thread and really love the idea of this alternate multiverse where Setback fights for Expariatte like Scott Pilgrim did for Ramona. (I would link to the thread, but I don't really know how. Sorry.)

Haka fights monsters in the future, he can fight them in the past (our present), right? I'm sure Chrono-Ranger would have gone to him at some point and been like "Hey man, you fought monsters with me in the future, and you were pretty good at it. Mind giving me a hand now so you don't have to do it later?"
