Master villain in Sentinels Uprising?

In the Uprising coming, the villains that are featured and playable are The Operative, Ambuscade, and Proletariat. However, the last comic sequence makes it clear that none of them are the mastermind behind these events; instead, there is another figure, shown only in silhouette with glowing red eyes. Who is this?

The fact that the villain was looking for crystals might suggest Dawn, but the silhouette looks male to me. The Operative's bio seems to confirm that Chairman Pike is dead; I don't think it's him. Any thoughts?

It's Guise. Wait, that doesn't work anymore.

One thing that I can confirm is that this shadowy figure in the comics is not the same shadowy figure seen grabbing the Seer on Visionary's cards.

It would have to be someone with money. Ambuscade, Pro, and Operative's services do not come cheap. I wouldn't be surprised if Pike makes a comeback and is somehow much different than the Pike we knew. Plus, the Operative isn't just gonna work for anyone. She is far too strong and far too ambitious to bend a knee to anyone, unless there was some previous trust there. Just my thoughts.

Also note that it never mentions Pike being killed…just that he disapeared after the Dark Watch took down the organization in Rook City for good.

Probably someone we haven't seen in SotM, yet... Or maybe the head of Revocorp? Haven't seen him outside his armor, right?

It's the Cursed Acolyte.

Have we seen him inside armor? Reavenant? (spelling is probably bad there)

It's Revenant. He's in his armor. The eyes and shape of the head are a dead ringer for Revenant's card in vengeance.

His oblivion shards were stolen(by the citizens) so he hired Ambuscade and the Operative to distract the F5 so that Proletariat could get him more with less interference.

Im pretty sure he's responsible for the rash of animal themed villains around too. He probably has been working with Ambuscade for quite a while, promising to restore his powers.

Well that would very much fit the "needs lots of money" requirement. Ok braith you sold me on this one.

Nice hypothesis! I’ll have to study the art more before I’m convinced; I had the impression the shadowy figure was tall, unlike Revenant. But what rash of animal-themed villains?

I think he means the "Sabertooth" like villain in Beacons tactics deck and Visionary's SotM deck, along with the "sinister 6" like team seen with Ambuscade in Setbacks High Risk Behavior card.

Which nicely references OsCorp, who -- in the Amazing Spider-Man movies -- is responsible for the Sinister Six, most of whom are also animal-themed.

Ah! And if this shadowy figure is revealed in the next installment of Tactics as Reveanant, it would be a great place to introduce his nemisis, the peter-parker-esque Setback! Which most likely means Expat will be with him. Fixer was already teased as well. Heck, just throw in Nightmist and we can have the whole Dark Watch!

Well…actually…Nightmist might not be alive anymore…I kinda have a sinking feeling the Miststorm doesn't bode well for her future in the card game. Wraith more than likely takes her spot on the team (and shes also quoted in Dark Watch comics in tactics flavor text).

We could be seeing a Dark Watch expansion sooner than a Prime Wardens expansion!

I like where all this is going.

I feel like the optimal way to do it would be to have a Prime-Wardens themed Main Game, with villains such as Akash'Bhuta, Apostate, and Bill Cosby's nemesis as the playable villains. Then, the small expansion that comes with could be for the Dark Watch: Setback, NightMist, Fixer, and ExPat as heroes and villains like Revenant, Gloomy, and Kismet.

We get a peak of some shadowy figure choking The Seer on Visionary's Foresight.

That could be our new mysterious antagonist...

So the Cursed Acolyte took over Revo-Corp?  Revo-Corp is the Church of Ronway?  This is all too much.

Isn't it Nightmist that we can see in Proletariat's power cards (defensive sacrifice or something)?

Money is grand. However, there are other fantastic motivators in the universe of Sentinels.

Proletariat is driven by a desire to serve "the people." He may be speaking of a greater audience than himself. He may actually be fighting to bring balance to the world.

Citizen Dawn is collecting the crystals/shards. Who says she is working in opposition to the figure? Backstabbing and misinformation are very plausible among villains.

Ambuscade has a desire for the crystals. And, the Operative is much more complex than being motivated by simple greed.

These villains are complex characters, motivated by ideals and desires. Who says this mysterious shadow cannot provide something to all of them?

In the image on Foresight, we see shadow tendrils around The Seer's face. It's possible the figure is draining his powers. Maybe to give them to Ambuscade as payment for his aid.

The information thus far is VERY limited. There is a mystery here and we cannot simply assume that money is motivation enough for these characters.

The Operative has much more than money at her disposal with her new crew's control over Megalopolis crime. Ambuscade has the ability to destroy superheroes, money is a stepping stone--not his end goal. Proletariat is more of an anti-hero than a villain, he seeks an agenda much larger than financial success.

This shadowy figure could need the crystals for something that will distort the balance of powers in the game. Ambuscade wants power, the Operative has acquired power and likely seeks more, Proletariat wants "the people" to be strong and not be oppressed, and Citizen Dawn seeks the crystals with her meta-human family. It is possible, the shadow figure will use the crystals to nullify the powers of the heroes and grant great strength to the villains.

OR! It could be Cthulhu... NightMist draws in some great Lovecraft stuff. It could be a way to open a portal to some great tentacled monstrosities that rival the cosmic force in NightMist's visions from SotM...

OR! You guys are all right and it's just the president of Revocorp... But, that seems like a kind of a lame follow-up story to "The Mulitiverse is going to be destroyed by a massive cosmic force that's been screwing with the timeline and granting sentience to robot factories."

Only time will tell.

I have no idea who that is, the character is too small and hard to make out with all the green. It doesn't look like Nightmist to me though.

The Uprising Scenario must take place after the Citizen Dawn Scenario. You can see the hole in the wall of RevoCorp that the Citizens made being fixed in the Uprising book.

Revo Corp is building in importance right now.  We've had a few mentions, then images cleverly placed, then the mini-nemesis.  I think more is coming.  I think Revo Corp is the focal point of a much begger operation than the Organization, with possibly cosmic connections.

My thoughts on Revo Corp.

1.  Revenant is a name heavily associated with returning from the dead.  I think they are heavy into collecting defeated things.  I think Chairman and Voss will be connected to Revo Corp, just like Omnitron was.  They seem to be big into reverse engineering.

2.  When did Revenant first show up in the timeline, and how does it relate timewise to Pike's disappearance?  I'm wondering if Revenant is an alter ego of Pike, or someone who was in the shadows operating and now is coming out of said shadows.  Pike was the Chairman of the Organization, but that implies others were involved.  I can't help but think The Chairman or his assets are very important to Revo Corp.

3.  I think that Revenant is Setback's nemesis because Setback is a successfully augmented human and Revo Corp wants to reverse engineer him to make more.  They wanted the secret of Omnitron, and I think they have Voss as well, either as prisoner, subject or an important leader (depending on how Earth-centric they are).  The Lazarus Chambers would be of incredible value to them, esp. if they could reverse-engineer Blade's work.  Revo-Corp could very well be involved in Gloomweaver finding a host and Spite being reborn.

4.  It would not surprise me at all if Ra's Staff was in Revo-Corp with the other relics, and I would love the new Ra to be someone from Revo-Corp, even if he was a bookkeeper or Janitor and not at all dedicated to some evil scheme.  It would explain his reaction to Legacy.

Anything that can be sent can be returned, and anything lost can be found.  I would be very surprised if that mist was the end of Voss.  If the Staff was found in Revo-Corp then they had Apostate's sword, who knows what else they have access to.

We don't know that the staff was in revocorp. Or where that little mini museum is.

But I 100% agree Voss will be back at some point. Just not in SotM

Oh I don't think the whole Revo-Corp thing is going down in the card game.  It is still being set up in tactics.  Voss could be back in the card game (I expect a promo for him), I don't know how well he fits Tactics, it would be very interesting though.

I've been working on some of the villains converting them to Tactics, I might try to make a series of retro-scenarios if some good templates show up.  Voss's Invasion is just too good a scenario to not use it.  (have Spite half-done, but the "play as a soul-less murderer" scenario isn't sitting well in testing so I may bail on it)

Voss would work great in tactics. He could have an army of minions just like barons or omnitrons and be awesome.

I think RevoCorp and FILTER still have a large role to play in the card game, and the final few expansions will likely flesh out their role further. But we know both organizations are still around during Tactics.

But that is old Voss, and that would rock.  New Voss isn't going to be running around like old Voss.  Unless they really want to go Napoleon with him and have him escape, retake his home and set out to wipe out Earth.  It is feasible, but I don't see them going back to the old Voss like that.
