I just noticed that throughout her deck her energy spikes are always blue exept for her incap side. The color yellow they then take mirroring Dawn's typical power color is probably not haphazard especially considering Dawn is on the incap.

Could this indicate that Dawn can affect other mutants (of course return with the dawn already shows effect on others)?

Could this incap be a mirror to when Magneto stripped the Adamantium out of Wolverine? (it ain't litteraly the same but both times seem like a use of power to get substance or energy out of a body agains't their will) The absolute lack of damage to Knyfe's armor would support a loss of control induced by Dawn.

I'd like to know your take on all this as you are usually better than me at fishing out conspiracy theories.

Forgive me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure KNYFE isn’t a mutant.

K.N.Y.F.E.'s powers come from her tech, not mutant powers. Not sure that F.I.L.T.E.R. would employ someone not 'pure' human.

Sort of.  From her bio:

However, spending over a decade around the The Block’s occupants and its temporal containment systems irrevocably altered her physiology, which took more of a toll on Huntly than it did most.   She spent weeks in the neo-superhuman development wing of the infirmary as energy spikes erupted all over her body.
So, she's not a mutant in that she wasn't born that way, but her powers definitely go beyond just her tech.  And they definitely did keep her on the payroll after she was "mutated".

That's what I get for trying to rely on my old memory and not looking at the bios again!

Yep. Our memory sucks.

I took it as those spikes of energy come from an attack from Dawn and aren’t K.N.Y.F.E.'s.

Just need to clean your cache once in a while and maybe check to see if all your sticks are properly seated.

One of them has the same shape and placement as on the card For the Greater Good and we've seen dawn attack with energy blasts but not spikes that remain as far as I know. Most of the spikes have one end hidden but the few we see completely are sharp on both edges which is more consistent with an internal origin than having the control to precisely get them all planted halfway. Of course it all brings the question on how energy spikes deal with her suit. Her incap also seems reminescent from her origin and I quote from her bio: ''She spent weeks in the neo-superhuman development wing of the infirmary as energy spikes erupted all over her body.''

In fact it just struck me how strange it is for a dimensional prison to even have a neo-superhuman development wing…

I blame Matchstickman. You don't want to know what he's been downloading…

Dawn probably has some semblance of control over the energy in KNYFEs body. Think along the lines of Magneto ripping the Adamantium out of Wolverines body. It's a great analogy because of just how similar Dawn is to Magneto.

... and also how similar KNYFE is to Wolverine. Yeah, I'd have to say that's basically what it is.

Now that Sentinel Tactics is out, compare the energy spikes to that on Dawn’s searing lance. Sure it’s one big lance compared to many smaller ones, but otherwise the effect looks identical.

I always figured it was just Dawn manipulating the energy inside KNYFE so that it erupted out in a spike 'splosion.
